IJN ships with armour is a big no no. And btw, neutral ships have the weakest
armour. My new Somers can do 40 with 7 bulk,4 buldge and 1.0 belt and 58
overdrive. Plus she has 3 shiny new mark x4 launchers and 4 4" duals so strip off
your armour as running is better than being a slow sitting duck.
p.s. z99s normaly can go 37-39 with decent armour and guns

i stripped my ship of all its armor and i could hit 47 knots and 60 in overdrive,which
did not help when i had a ship with 5 x5 torp launchers (jap i believe) fire all torps
fast wide spread and even then i was unable to outrun them,and i seemed to have
lasted longer in battles with the piece of crap japan armor.I think i will keep my armor
(i can now hit 53 knots in overdrive and 38 normally,which is fine for me)

Your puting armor... That a big NO NO for Jap ships. It better to take all your armor off
because you can be alot faster. Japan armor is the weakest of all Nations so I would
suggest not to use armor till you are in a way bigger ship because Jap ships can be pretty
fast.

Now that i think about it...should i strip my Kagero of all its armor so it can run away
faster or should i load it up with armor and stuff so i can last longer when i attack a
weakened ship?

Except for his problem is that he DOESNT HAVE TORPS YET! hes only lvl 12 and
doesnt get torps till 14. Yes i went down the same road, and it sucks ass. basicaly
just try to sit back and even if you cant kill anyone jus try to do some damage and
stay alive yourself. It will take a while. But its a pain in the ass and it must be done.

noobsailor great post for this kind of ship. I do what you said all the time. Letting
the newbs or fearless leaders run into the first couple of torp volleys.
In one game last night, I knocked off 5 alot bigger ships then mine, which where at
less then half health left. REDLINED being at full health. I pounded them.

lol u killed a Z99!? Ive seen aganos being owned by them. The only strategy Ive
seen that works for all lower lvl IJN ships is stay back abit from the battle and pick
em off one by one if possible. If there longer range than u or there not paying
attention 2 u rush up, torp and run back if ur health is good and u dont mind losing a
chunk of it.If ur at low health then either go on a suicide run if ur support crew cant
repair ur ship much. If ur ship can be repaired a lot just sit and wait till its fully
repaired then go help ur teamates cuz by then the battle should be almost over and
u can eat wats left of the enemy ships.
