Brook is built for 6" trips.. so use them.

HA is worthless when DD's come in, and the Brook is a DD killer.

Well, SWPIG, there are several advantages over the Oakland with the 5/54" with the Brook. First, you have better angles. Which is VERY important (hate those Atlanta angles -.-). Second, you have more DP, gun space and better small stats (HE Defense, AP defense etc.) You also have about 1.25k more displacement which you can armor up the Brook

The disadvantages are 1 less gun space, and people saying "get real guns n00b, etc."
Also the Oak is much smaller than the Brook along with the CL FCS 2 so its abit more accurate.

Though I have used the 5/54" on my Brook for abit just because I don't want to keep losing money from the remoldeling cost and engine. So what if people say get real guns? Just teach them a lesson by annoying the hell out of them with HAing. I have seen atlas, who is a goldbar and along with 50+ players use the 5/54"

5"/54 Brook is good for CL/CA, nothing else. damage output is crap compared to 6"/47 triples, what makes it good in CL/CA is the overpowered APC shell from dropshots and the fact that there are other ships around you that the other side will have to engage as well since you have nearly 8" range.

personally i think you're a nub if you're in Brook and still using Atlanta tactics. then i kill you.

Many things, size, the extra turret *cough cough* not big target that everyone wants to hit, faster, better to use when you are first attemping to learn HAing, and most imporant of all when you go into a CL/CA/BB game they will ignore you so it's a heck load easyer to get into range
