Gearing:

Overall good ship GUNWISE. it and its remodels are not good for torping. It can carry good guns, (dual 5" or dual 6" or single 7" etc...) and has plenty of binds for each.

It has great range.

Depending on the remodel, it can have 4 or 3 guns.

It can PACK ON THE ARMOR (equivalent to a US armor whore DD if you use lighter guns)

It does not, in its remodel form the Timmerman (the only remodel that can carry the Dual 5"ers with lots of ammo) have Torp slots. only guns.

Has about the same DP as Somers (within a hit or two)

Overall IF YOU LIKE GUNS, USE THIS SHIP.


Somers:

IF YOU LIKE TORPS, USE THIS SHIP.

I have seen countless Somer TW's, because of its three torp slots.

This has less room for guns, but can still pack a punch

I can't remember how many gun slots it has, I think it is 4.

Smaller target than the gearing.

Mostly used as a Torp/run ship, but if you pack on some good guns, it can be a good sudden strike ship.

Cannot pack on HARDLY ENOUGH armor to match the Gearing.

Has more speed.
