Hello CV drivers, are you tired of having all your DBs shot down by AAW. Do your
TBs get too close to the target and get AAWed to death as well? Well this guide is
for you. :)

First for Manual DBing. your planes need to be fairly close to the target area. Press
the "Semi-colon/Colon"button and left click on the spot you want the bombs
dropped. A small green circle with the flight number of your bombers will appear.
Start spamming the "Period" button to have you planes just drop the bombs without
even diving into the AAW.

Now for TBs. **Disclaimer** This should only be done when targetting front-line
ships. Press and hold or spam the "Comma" button to lower your planes. Right click
in the direction you want to aim them and simply release the torps with the "Period"
button.

The main advantage of this technique is that you target will often have no clue that
he is being bombed and therefore take no evasive action. This is also the only way
to bomb if you have lowered your Bombers to avoid AA walls without raising them
back to the original height. Hope this helps a little bit
guys. Any other input is gladly accepted.

i love manual tbing at gb :) too bad my rn tb is still low :( and can't get close to well
but breaking their bulge out of the way is fun :) 2-3 waves (6 planes per wave) then
another wave for the damage

Thank you all for the 10 pages of refresher for me. My buddies called me for some NF
recently and it's been over a year since driving my CV. I'm embarrassed to say that I
"donated" my planes to the enemy the 1st and 2nd rounds yesterday. After reading these
posts, I again feel ready to offer some usefulness to my team and some threat to my opponents.

Highly recommended to new and old CV'ers alike.

@maitreakow the problem is that you used the "Default" keys for the Manual
bombing commands, you would better use the Action denomination (Lower planes,
Higher planes, Torpedo trops......) and add the key precising it's "Default" button.

It also requires many skills to perfectly bomb a Target using Manual DBing, the
bombs NEVER hit the green circle in question. better to have a friend for training on
Immobile Targets first, then on Moving targets. Then going to GB 2, using the Dive
Bombing comand also help for group the Dive Bombers (all the planes nearly form 1
plane, all drop at same time), can be used for evade Fighters (when you dive, they
lose you for a second, permitting to go hit a BB if he isn't too far) and it adds some
speed to your bombers, they fly a bit faster once targeting something.

@Adamai, that's why we created Subs! in addition of being good at sinking BB/CVs,
it's also very effective for sink the AA CLs (2 Torps and bye bye!) at least it's how I
play (shoulda say played) my sub, since of the nerf, no point to lose time Targeting
CLs since you'll get sink at the second you raise for Air, and hunting a CL takes time
in a SS.

i would like to see more bb's take out AA ships too, but most of the time AA ships are
behind their lines which means the bb's need to enter hit range to take them down.. its
not really practical untill your team is winning and has more bb's than your opponent. the
chances are your bb will get blown up while trying to do this due to having to get closer.

other than that they shouyld absolutely shoot them when they are in front of their lines.
less AA means more scouty wouty.

without going through all 10 pages of posts to see if somebody else pointed this out.

I read somewhere that around level 100, you get AAW immunity for bombers (and level
70 for RN planes).

other than that. it's skill in being able to deliver your payload on target and avoid AA
fire. better yet, take out the AA ships first and leave the BB's wide open to both your
bombers, and for scouting/vision.

it would be nice if the BBs would see the wisdom in this. but you can hardly get them to
focus on hitting a surfaced sub off the bat that's in long range sights. or a Kita before it
gets a few volleys of torps well underway.

ok some one needs to clear these guides up..

first things first

1/ your bombers do not need to be anywhere near the target when you issue your dive
order!! you can do it from anywhere, but it makes mroe sence to issue the dive close to
the target to avoid the target moving out of the way as your dive order is on a posistion
on the map and not on the target.. then press ( . ) at the peak of the dive! do not wait
for planes to dive they tend to get shot up.. follow the next steps to make sure your
planes all stay grouped and drop bombs all at the same time.

in some cases your planes are spread out after launch, to get your planes to group
ordering the dive from afar also brings your planes into tight formation ;) then just
click them around the map as normal until you find your target of choice. (this only works
on dive bombers)

2/ torp bombers at low level are not very clever for manuel tb runs, reason is they dont
last long against aaw, and you have to fire torps off from a long way off giving the
target time to manouvre around them..

high level torp bombers can skim the water and be more or less immune to all enemy aaw
fire. this allows you to drop your torps manually at very very close ranges which always
lands home. ideally uoi want to be fireing off torps a good 1.5 to 2.0 inches from your
target.. keep close keep it lethal.

their are two ways to launch torp bombers,

1 to sea level.. always launch planes useing the fervest to the right pilot and then
cycle back along the pilots... what this does is launch all the lead planes of each
sqaud, this now means you can drag a selection box around the lead planes and select all
planes in the group by simple selecting the 2 lead planes.. while planes are launching
just hold this key ( , ) to make them hug the waves and full stop ( . ) is to launch torps..

2 standard launch just let them spill out into the air then drag abox round them simple.

how to group tb's if they are spread out.. - select all planes by dragging a selction
box around them at peak altitude,, then hold down your lower altitude button while spam
clicking directions around the map, your planes will lower and for each click they tighten
up. if you do this enough two things will happen!

1. your planes will form into a delta formation's
2. they will just huddle together really tight

you have no control over this, i prefer the delta as it gives a nice tight but a good
spread of torps into the side of targets.. rather than a concentrated huddle of torps
into the middle, torps that have a slight spread have more chance of hitting home than the
direct huddle ones which can be completely avoided.

tactics for db's

when manuel bombing try to make your planes dive over the central axis of the ship, its
pivot point for when it turns, reason is hitting here cannot be dodged and every hit
lands. so judge it well and take into account that your target is moving.

tactics for manuel tb-

if you can always manuel tb. and always take your planes behind enemy lines, this draws
enemy AA FIRE away from other planes such as bb scouts and fighter waves.. secondly try to
attack targets from the side only, hitting targets in the front or aft only yields 50%
damage,, where as in the side warrants 100% damage. also the side is a bigger target so
more torps are likely to land. if your manuel torping then the enemy has no idea which
target you have chosen so its last minute evasive actions for them as apposed to seeing
the little red crosshair as you rplanes drwa in for the kill from an auto attack.. (master
manuel tb). its easy to avoid tb's when you know its you they are after.

when tb's and db's are under fire from eney aircraft, you prolonge the life span buy fake
diving and doing fake torp runs, these can only be done from max altitude..

for db's just pretend your doing a manuel bomb but without pressing the drop bombs button
and your planes will rapidly dive down and then back up gaining you some prescious time to
get closer to the target..

for tb's just click a target for an auto run and your tb's will fly down to sea level,
once down click again on a random map location to send planes back to altitude.. tb's are
nto as fast as db's but it still helps and is a good way for avoiding AA fire too. and
remember tb's will auto fire the torps if you dont cancel the action so just be aware of
it. auto fire torps always fail. too close no dmg!!

When I do manual DB and spam the release button my bombs don't drop on the spot,
they go a bit farther and miss the ship. Am I doing something wrong?

thanks for the post. i love manual dbing because i can "carpet bomb" then lower planes out of golden angles
