  • DLand gunners: a level too far

If levelling Deutschland gunners ahead, as recommended, of your operator ... is there
a "level too far" ... ? That is, if hoping to get the most out of your DLand and/or P-Pro' in
blitz, will having your gunners too far ahead only mean that they can no longer be used in
blitz, that much sooner ... ?

Older post but eh. . .5 levels above your BO and you should be good.

@Davetheman
Hes asking if there is a point where its not worth having your gunners that high over your BO.

ahhh the fun of having your gunner ahead! 15 level ahead in the 50s, same level at 110!

I leveled my gunners 10 levels ahead of my BO, now I'm at the Scharnhorst and their still
two levels ahead.

Few of my clan buddies recommended this and helped me with it when I restarted.

As my dland gunners are just out of the blitz level now and jumped into tgb1 im
finding it to be quite a fun ship to give big bbs a run for there money,
if you can keep dodging like hell i think my best game with a dland is 100k attack
really enjoyed that game but ran out of shells after hitting 100k attack

Credits shouldn't be a problem for Dland in GB because the AA battery on that ship is
quite nice. Take down a few waves of fighters or bombers while you wait for your
opportunity to sneak in for a few salvos.

DD Im not sure I understand your question. If you want high level gunners on your
Dland, then start a new BO exactly at the time your BO reaches Dland level, and use
your gunners with the new BO until the point where you feel comfortable that you
can still play in blitz (if that is your goal) but have decent gunners.

I really reccomend playing in GB with the Dland though. You are almost NEVER
targetted by bigger BB's in my experience. I got 100k attack in one of my two
games that I played in my Dland yesterday (this thread made me want to play with
it again), the only thing that stopped me was I ran out of ammo and I had pretty
rough accuracy considering I dont play Dland, which can hurt with near block shot
gunners.

In terms of staying in Blitz' ...it is mainly just to maximize kill, credit, and point-potential, as I
won't be getting pwned so often by BB2/3/4 - and will be levelling my sailors slowly relative
to my credits/points revenue. I have actually been trying to level my gunners ahead using
an ASW-equipped DD in GB2, but don't really know when my operator-starting point (i.e.,
when I begin to level them "with" my operator) should be? If I want my gunners to be many
levels ahead of my Operator by the time he's Deutschland-level (say 10-20, as an example),
how far ahead should they be when I begin levelling him (as he will level faster, early on)?
