Actually I'd argue that the Pluton is nowhere near the Emden for AAW. You can only mount 8
barrels on it, and the ammo space is extremely limited in that configuration.

As for a decent AA platform, I find that if you equip the dual 5.1" or 5.46" on the
Jeanne, and put AA ammo binds on, it does alright. GA for them is 33, so they still have a
decent range, but the 5" shells hit planes hard. Harder than the 3.5" at any rate.

Pluton makes a pretty good scout killer with gold gunners and the basic lvl 20 guns.
I've been running it AA equipped with HH or torps(depending on the mood) for ASW.

Pluton is the closest thing to Emden that the MN has imo. Its pretty much useless for
anything but AAW/ASW.

the quad 5,1" are prem guns

All t-slots turn 360 degrees but not different guns have different firing arcs. For
example if you put aa guns on a Kita's T-slots you can't fire directly ahead of the ship. A
good AA ship needs as close to 360 degrees of good firing arcs as possible.

The classic IJN aa ships (Myoko/Mog/Mog41) mount their aa guns in r slots (6.1 trips).

All CA's can do that with the triple 6", though not with IJN's range ( with some HE for
self proection).
If you want IJN range or better try the 3.5" lvl 20 duals on just about any ship that
has 4 or 5 R slots and can use them with enough ammo.

What about R-slot AA configurations like Mogami/Myoko (5 x trip 6.1a turrets)?

T slots on Algierie are classic 90 degree ones.

And they are big enough to mount either 3,5" duals (3 dual turrets and one single
gun if you want) or 4 hedgehogs.

Plus the ship is wonderfully fast - i just put 8" duals, 3.5" aa guns (for a blitz
configuration) and it still goes 34 knots base speed.

Oh yeah and it has FIVE support sailor slots.
