There is a new ship, called the Asama. It used to suck. It still does suck but now it sucks just a little bit less (if you have a higher-level crew).
When they announced in the patch that they were buffing the Auto FCS for dd/cl/ca they didn't say how much. When I logged in I found that the buff was: AccuracyAutoFCS = AccuracyAimingFCS
That is correct, you have zero Accuracy Penalty for Auto.
Which makes this new Asama configuration actually fun and useful to play:
Rslots = 14"N guns Tslots = hedgehogs (good way to level those armament sailors you are levelling up to DP gunner)
recommended: put your sonar sailor on a yubari or akitsuki-kai and take as an escort with the 3"single guns and 1 bind of ammo. Yubari has the longest sonar range of any CL of any navy (because of the large FCS space) BUT it is long and crosses your ship a lot so this is not so good. Aki-Kai has a large FCS space for a DD and is teeny and fast.
So first job, kill subs. When subs are satisfyingly dead, then look for stragglers to sink at long range. Your food = bb1's. Bb1 have a large hitbox and you will land shots from front and back turrets.
You will not earn big credits or xp from this setup, but it is fun and makes you a very useful ship.
I would imagine the Dhonburi must be a lot of fun now with the trip6 turrets and a highlevel gunner, machine blockshotting.
With the autoaim you can own any SS4
