Emden is best with the 4.1s same range as the KM 40 just a bit smaller

even if you do snipe, thats a very, very tight ammo supply, and there are times when you
will want to put out a large volume of fire (IE bombers) and if you do not have the
flexibility to do that you may well be screwed over. and if you are so apt at "sniping",
why not use the 4.1s? same range, same reload, and ammo concerns are out of the picture.

i think the best km aa ship for raw power is P-Pro 1.
it can fire simultaneously with 5 km40A and can mount 10 binds(or 8 dont remember)
on the littler slots. it's more slow and fat than moltke , but it's free u just need a o-line
bo.
just think that bismarck can fire with 3 km40A per side, while ppro fires with 5.

this obviously only from the side, as bismarck fires in front 4 km40a, while the ppro fires
only 1.

I run km 40 on R slot moltke with 50 binds.
I can spam tons of GB2 game before I am running out of shells.
It is very effective for me, because I can blockshot/spread out my shells that way.

Dbobo, if you are trying to spam the living crap out of every plane you see, then of
course 3 binds will not be enough. However, if you are using the KM40s snipe scouts and
other lone planes, actually planning your shots instead of spamming spacebar, you will
have more than enough ammunition. Hipper and Eugen are far from the best choices (T slot
wise) to AA whore with anyways.

z1 almost certainly can not use the KM40's effectively. I found the 3.46" effective in the
z1, and it's maneuverable enough to make up for the shorter range.

I don't think the Emden should be omitted from the KM40 list. I'll admit, I had not tried
the 4.1" in the Emden. But I found using the KM40s highly rewarding and generally only ran
out of shells after a battle has been decided. My AA style was on the more discriminating
end of the spectrum, though.

Here are the stats for what i consider the best two KM AA boats. (shown as you see ingame
with shells/binds. As mentioned above the 4.1's get 50shells per bind while the C/32's and
KM40's both get 35 shells per bind.



Emden - Space 54

3.46" C/32 - 595/17
4.1" C/33A - 700/14
5" KM 40 - 210/6


Moltke - Space 44

3.46" C/32 - 385/11
4.1" C/33A - 450/9
5" KM 40 - 70/2

Hipper/PE both have 45 space on T slots but with only 3 mounts a side i wouldnt consider
them the best AA boats.

Emden has too low space to fit enough ammo to be able to spam shells :D

u can fit KM40's on emden but only 210 shells per gun.not so good
as u can see above where u have issue with space for KM40 alternative is 4.1",they are
same reload speed of 1.2s only difference is KM40 shells are faster, same range

where u have issue with weight(DDs) u go with 3.46" but most can fit KM40s on R slots

on many BBs if not all, T slots are different space for the reason i mentioned, some can
have KM40 and some 4.1" so u can have same number of shells,ofc most ppl use KM40's on all
T slots and that is fine.

for example, Emden has much more shells with 4.1" than 3.46" (700>595) even those guns
take more space and are heavier.
