I'm currently leveling an IJN seaman (around lvl 22 right now) for my CV. is there any
point to classing him until he catches up with my CV or should i just leave him as an
unspecified sailor as the exp gain is almost doubled? The potential doesn't change from
class to class so I figured there's no harm in letting him level faster.

You gain the same xp with a national standard sailor than a neutral. And you have more
caract. leveling than letting him level 25 after level 12.

More or less.

Patch ver. 1.277
Date: December 09, 2009

4. Sailors above level 25 can now gain experience again. However, neutral sailors
higher than level 25 will not be able to chose nationality or class.

Also remember neutral sailors only get exp until level 25, so NF will make the
decision very easy for you soon!

Even though you don't see the growth (Ie it always stays at what ever it was when classed)
It does go up. Say its +11 growth. It will grow +11 every time. Check it next time
your Seamen levels up.

Always class a sailor on time. What is the point in not classing? Seamen gain the most
sailors per level I believe.

And My Seamen is 119.

You lose crew by not classing him on time which translates to losing ability by not
classing him on time. So class him on time

more like a 120 seaman will add about 3% to everything and a lvl 20 seaman wont add anything.

be careful with the 3%...
The 3% is a way to simplify how a seaman works when you have sailors and a seaman of the
same level, same base and same BVE. A lvl 30 seaman won't add 3% to a lvl 100 sailor, and
a lvl 100 bve seaman will add much much more than "3%" to a lvl 30 sailor.

to make a decent CV seaman all you need is
+12 fighter or +11 in fighter
+11 or +10 in bomber
+10 in res/eng/rep

and if you can find with +14 pot as well that's good

need to remember that only 3% boost and it does stack but i believe it stack with these
formation
if you use:
1 seaman = 100% ability (3%)
2 seaman = 1st seaman is 100% and the 2nd seaman is 50% if i am not mistake so total is
150% for 2 of them on board
3 seaman = 1st seaman is 100%, the 2nd seaman is 50% and the 3rd seaman is only 25% so
with 3 seaman you only have 175% of their ability

not like if you use 3 seaman you can get 300%(100% X 3 seaman), not like that but with 3
seaman on board they just give you 175%
