In my opinion, use the triples. The default blitz map is too small to take advantage of range and speed properly.. and the odd battleship will still nuke you badly. Might as well get some attack before that.
>I don't think people still learning to play KM should use the trips >on the Mpro, but as a fun weapon for late in the game? Sure, go >ahead. I know I've had fun rushing BB4s and 5s with a 5.9D armed >Moltke.
For learning purposes (I'm still in this phase myself to tell the truth) they probably aren't that good. But in my own experience, I've been much more useful to the team by running triple 5.9 than either the 6.75 or 8" doubles.
Since every ships range tends to be low in Blitz, you can still play the long range game even with trip 5.9" guns, just not against CAs/BBs. Try to keep at maximum range for your guns, flee all the time.. the only thing different from using longer ranged guns? different angles and you might get shot at a bit more often. One might even say the keeping range part becomes more important, thus more easily learned?
One last point.. it's a team game, you're a good team player if you use a setup that benefits your team the most. Maybe it will hamper your ability to help the team once you move up a ship class or two? Kinda hard to judge whether those games in the future are more or less important than the games you play right now. If you're not having any fun at the moment, you're less likely to continue playing though and that won't be good for the community in the long run, so use whatever is enjoyable.
Personally I took a break from Deutschland and played with neutral Destroyer-02 a good while, just ffffiictorying to my death with autoaiming fcs. Made me laugh, was so different. I didn't do it completely for laughs of course, served to level some brand new crews.
