  • Hood With 16" L's

Hey guys , i am planning on Using the BO reset from the event to switch to the hood
line (Previously KGV,POW line i hate it becuase i hate rushing). When my gunners hit 79
i started using 2 "16 45 Mark 2 Standards. This is prolly the worst KGV setup one could
have , but i enjoed it becuase you usally hit somthing becuase the shells splash range
was quite large compared to the quads that are expected on the KGV or POW.

Overall my main questions is , is hood playable with 16" L's , i see that the gun space
can house these guns easily , but it will most likely take a toll on the speed. But will it
be able to compete with BB4's/5's with those guns with light shells , ect

Don't waste a good ship... 15" Mk III L on the Hood. Use your speed, use your range,
forget splash damage, just aim and know your angles...

If you put 14"L on Hood,i suggest to put on only 14"x4 2R,it's even lighter than
15"x2 4R.Check the "14" Hood" article i posted recently if you are interested.

14" turrets weights even more than 16". With at-level crew you might be able to get 23/39
speed, with higher level crews you have to let 1-2 sailorspots empty, otherwise you will
go only 22/37. Generally the Hood isnt worth a shiptreereset, since BB34-patch it lost
speed and turningforce. In GB2s its just a fat sitting duck.

"14 L's have a Shotgun spread , Even with my 11/11 BVE Gunners they can't hit the
same point twice , the 16" Guns have a much better spread and splash dmg

Why don't you try 14"L first on POW?It has BB3 range (but bad spread). If you don't
like it,using BO reset after that is not too late.
If you want to use Hood, i can tell you that 16"L will have slightly shorter range than
15"(N and L).If you want speed with 16",you may only put on 3R to reduce
weight. When i first got Hood i tried the 16"s but didn't like it(seems difficult to hit
something),so i turned to 15"s.
(BTW you can try 14"Lx4 2R if you want...interesting seting)

Well i am used to oversized hitboxes playing the Shinano , I'm not really a Vet BB player
so i think i'm going to try the hood. I hate POW and KGV , which makes me think i will
not like the nelly

You can play the Hood with 16" Ls, but be warned, you're not going any faster than 35-
37 knots OH. You're unlikely going to outrun any BB4/BB5. If you're lucky, then a
BB4/BB5 that will stray into your range can get killed, but that will only happen once out
of a few games you play.

The ship that works better with the 16" L setup (besides Nelly of course) is the
Vanguard, which can OH decently at 40 knots.

hmm Hood is lvl 81, and at lvl gunners will suck eatherway.

I diden't play Hood, but I can tell ya this... Nelly vs Hood...both using 16'', Hood is
going down, simple as that.

It's just to darn big you can't miss it eaven if you try.

cheers

You want a truthful answer? You can go that way with the 16s. You must have good
supports though so as to avoid sticky situations. The 16s will give you range that
can engage BB4s and the unlucky BB5 that traipses in.

Be careful though, the Hood has a rather large hitbox that renders her easy to hit by
bombers and shells. Pack on enough engineers and no worries.
