Leveling 6 engis is pretty much pointless unless you either plan on selling 1 or running
your bb6 with just 2 repairers. Remember you can only run 14 crew on a bb6 which is 9
support slots, so 5 engis 3 repair and scout is all you can fit.

You only need 3 engies to speed cap yammy, as long as those engies are level 95 and
have 300 vets :)

I run 5 Eng lvl 104-101 (4 x 12/10/10, 1 Elite) and 3 Rep lvl 100-98 (2 x 12/10 + 1
Elite). Rep rotate randomly.

I never hit speed cap in Yammy, highest is 38knots.

Currently in S.Y running 39knots with some ammor (0.6 belt, 100 bulge, few slices
paper on deck). Should hit speed cap when all Eng (140-120vet, full expert) reach lvl
105 or higher.

I think 5 Eng in S.Y/ Yammy will do, as both ship need good Rep when engaging
enemy. Remember not to use AA slot to farm Rep, IJN AA provide good protection
against any plane near you & generate high expert return.

Read Adalberts guide to Ability and you'll se that anything past 5 Engineers is detrimental to
speed as the last one drops everyone's ability.

well yamato is a bit slower than Naga, that said, your enginners average are hurting your
final outcome as the divide in skill is huge(i believe at 6 enginners each one is working
at 25 percent).. In the end however, is the point that your level is just not high
enough(with your enginners). Are we talking about a full displaced yammy? was the naga(at
42) fully displaced?Try removing some engineers, or freeing some weight.
Im almost fully displaced, nor fully enginnered, but my yama got to 37(1 engy).Check the
formula tho.

Keep crying and just grind out till SY for some of the Ultimate fun.

Hmm. My engies were around level 98-100 before I hit 40 knots. It's just natural.. you
won't speed cap a ship at level unless it's a BB5 (With that many engies) or a BB6. It's
just the way engineers work; you'll get there. Yamato is arguably the best BB4 too.

shira, I don't think he should level another BO, just keep rotating sailors and keep using
yammy with AA. he is at yammy level.
