  • KM SS4 - Flak or Engs?

So I know I want to go for a submarine and likely I'll end up eventually at SS4, but I'm
about to make my crew and I want to start right. So I want to benefit from the people that
have been there already. Do I scrub of the Flak guns and stock extra engineers, or do I
train the gunners and only put one engineer on board?

Does it matter having the extra two engineers? Are the flaks really THAT super powerful?

So either

1x BO
2x Torper
1x Planesman
1x Sonarman
1x Engineer
2x Gunner (For Flakvierlings)

or

1x BO
2x Torper
1x Planesman
1x Sonarman
3x Engineer

Or is there a better build involving Repairers or the like?

your statementt is false. I used 2 elite repairers on my KM ss , in the gunner spot. and
they work fine for me. The only sailors that works on support spots for ss are : Engineers,
sonarman and planesman.

Easily disproved.

Simply put some Reps. in the gun slots and see for yourself...

I generally run with 2 Reps+1 Eng.+standard staff.

My BO/Sonar/Planesman are all 78 or 79, while my Engy and Reps are 108/107/101. SD comes
in a little under 600

it depends :
1. fun mode : 1 bo , 2 torpers , 1 eng ,1 sonor ,1 planeman + 2high lvl guners (not
very eficient but lots of fun)

2. Serios mod : 1 bo , 2 torpers , 1 sonor , 1 eng (high lvl), 1 planeman + 1 restorer
(or 2 depends on your speed preference...i get 40 knots with 700sd with 1 rest , i
can get 900 sd from the second rest but i get 38 knots).

It all depends how u licke to play

Gunners are fun...but nott recommended, a BB might be around and take youu out of the
game. they can be used against ASW, but not a great idea against PRO players in a ship
other than Sub, they can ttake you easily with anything blockshooting at you.

Yes, gunz on U-flak r great for annoying those ships (and planes) that annoyed u before
(FFs, DDs...with depth charge), and gives u more chance to give the last shoot into a cv
from high range in the end (only if winning :D)...

I put 2 restorers, I think 900 SD is necessary....
but putting gunners gives you alot fun...

Alright then, so my option is to either take the flak gunners or leave the slots empty?

correction

Km ss cant handle 3 engineer if youu are using sonarmar and planesman. Engineers can only
be used on support slot.
