Like I said about some utility if you can avoid compromising your repair rate. Also, I
expect that the above makes them rather useful on subs.

SM are the only sailors that can increase the OH time of a ship while in R-Slots.

The only BB I run with a seaman is my Iowa, simple because its light, and fits in the last
support slot, (If I put anything else I go from speed cap of 42 to 40)

It gives a noticable increase in accuracy on the Iowa. (And monty when I tested it) And
whats only with a lvl 53 Seaman, imagine a 100+ :)

so engys and reps are still the priority?
coz some says that having a seaman on board would be a great help...im on monty now and still using
iowa to train my lvl 89 sailors...

The plus side of a seaman is how much crew they have and you can put as much as 400+ vets
on him at lvl 120. The downside is reps and engies generally do better job for their role
on a BB. If you're repair capped and don't have another engie, then a seaman would be
ideal especially if you have a CV crew.

I'd consider a Seaman marginal on a BB. If it ends up costing little to no repair rate,
it could worthwhile, though.

Yes, get one. There are situations that a seaman is preferable...especially if you've
supervetted him. But secure your core bb crew firstly, reps and engies and a scout or two.
A skeleton scout is often handy as well. Def suggest putting a Seaman on grind,,,but
invest in him..several people around here can tell ya the basics of getting to 109 vets
early on and how important it is to build on top of that mere 109vets.

It's not recommended (or at least I don't recommend it) for BBs.
