Biggest factors when I played (bearing in mind I never remodeled the Ise).
1) Gun Placement: The placement of the turrets on the Ise makes for some awkward salvos when not at pure broadside. The even setup with the fuso allows for some good salvos particularly at the 45 degree turn (IE, Nosed in on something and not firing broadside).
2) While the Ise remod can be used as a TW, I can't stress how bad of an idea I find this. The kita has success with this for a couple reasons; 52 Knots Overheat and very small hitbox. The Ise remod... well its a big target, slow (compared to kita), and as a TW you have to be infront of your team. Your asking for a lot of people to shoot you, and I can't count the number of times I have seen Ise TW's get shot before they ever Launch a plane or fire a shell.
3) Plane control: Few people can micro their fighters well as it is, I don't believe even some of the best CVs I watch play could manage their fighters and play in a BB at the same time. This essentially makes the Ise remod a protected CV (in otherwords can protect itself from smaller ships that get through) but at the cost of a BB. May say what does 1 BB matter, but how many people in here do not want even "Numbers" before starting rooms?
My recommendation to anyone is to go the Fuso line and always has been, and to be honest I did not like the nagato and spent the time from Fuso - Yammy playing Fuso. For someone looking for a CV, Ijn has a long list of available CVs.
As one little side note, for those who say ships are ugly and base choices on that. Function is always more important than looks.
