  • Experienced USN CV player's Advice please

I have 6 US Fighter Pilots all elite. All with decent vets. So essentially they have
good stats. Even though the stats are good, would it be necessary to have one or
more seamen onboard? I know a seaman can contribute to Fighter ability, but with
great pilots would it really be of any use? And also, is it still important to get a Medic
nowadays? I know they did something with the "no vet loss" thing for pilots, but will
a medic still help with reduction in loss of experts and/or rookies? Last question. If I
should indeed get a seaman, would it be better to have more than 1 or just 1? I am
not sure if their abilities stack or not... Thanks for the advice.

*Edit
I forgot to add, 5 of those Fighters I have are below level 50. So I am not sure if
that affects whether I still need a Seaman or medic or not.

I won't make a seaman, if I were to restart playing a new CV crew.
I have a lvl 119 seaman, and it didn't really help much when it had 220 vets and max
experts on my KM cv.

I was running a boosted lvl34 medic on my essex and the medic actually works... Almost
zero crew death! I didn't believe it myself but there ya go. BTW why cant you mount
medic and seaman together? If anyone could elaborate I would appriciate it as I have both.

Hmm, I see thanks for the feedback. What if I use a UK Seaman with USN Medic, will
they still cancel each other out? And what would be better to have, a seaman or
Medic?

Even if your lvl 120 a seaman will help. Hell add 5% ability if im not mistaken. Theyll
get you a slight edge. Never use a medic and seaman tho, they cancel eachother out.

Medic still reduces rookie and expert death rate so its still an option.

Get a seaman.
Why blow your advantage? Besides higher level CVs have enough support slots to house 8
pilots and a seaman.

A medic will reduce the experts / rookies death rate when your planes are killed, and vets
/ experts / rookies death rate when you are hit by shells. no vet death when planes are
killed. You wont see any improvement before your medic is high enough, lets say 70+...

same thing for seaman, it doesn't adds a lot, so you won't notice it before very high level.
Seamen do stack, but with diminishing return like engis, with a worse ratio than engis,
sth like 100% 33% 12% for 3 similar seamen.

To answer your questions, I'd say you should get a seaman because it will improve your
fighters and add SD, but more than 1 is not necessary, get engys instead to escape from subs.
A medic is a good idea if you plan to have more than 100 vets on your pilots.
