Generally how should I armor my Mogami CL? Also, how should I
use the T slots?
It has CL Engine 3(Heavy); CL FCS 1; 5 Triple 6.1's with 4 binds HE, 1 bind AA; and
currently 5 buldge and 4 bulkhead. It cruises at 30 knots and there is 2400
displacement available.

LOL obsessed ^^

Well Im really as far from uber as it gets, may I recomend;

- trip 6.1" guns with something like4 binds of HE heavy shellz
- and about the same AA as secondary.
- no armor, just bulge, but not that much. you want to be as fast as possible.IJN
armor is like wet paper. better of staying back protecting CVs(flagship on GB2)
-you will need torps or depth charges. the amount of shellz depends on CL or CA
mode.
- Speed is the only Armor your ever gonna need in IJN ships.
(the faster you are the better)

I would kick back and play defensively, play escort to CV or BB(never crossing BBs;)
and rush guns blasting if you need to distract the enemy and buy a capital ship time
to escape, or sink the opposition. your call on this one, but know that if you run
while your capital ships get sunk. Chances are your just gonna run out of map ...

- Remember, the need of the many outway the need of the few.

players tend to live longer when enemy is blind. once you get CV version of Mogami
you may want to use fighters to scout and kill scouts, with about 5 tbs or dbs with
enough ammo for about 3 trips out.

get as much practice in Mogami CV remodel while you can. because Ise is just
around the corner, and IJN BB Ise in CV remodel form is one of my favorite ships in
NF. (after all. It's the things you don't see, that tend to hurt you ;) Ise is uber ninja!!

* You will never get bored with it. and can use various versions of it to level up all
the way to yamato. or at least until your spread and engineers are good enough for
Nagato ^^ (cant wait for ebb hyuga:)

getting up close with a mogami is suicide, so i'd allways go for 8"(or 7.9)

but because you wanna kill before the enemy comes close i usually use heavy shells
(if you get your angles right you won't get outranged with the 8" anyways)

if your training DP gunners you might wanna run torps on your T's to keep the
enemy at a safe distance. (arm. sailors can run up to 4x torp launchers without
classing em to torp sailors)

That depends on what you what to optimize against (6.1 are better vs DD, 7.9 vs CA), and
how good your gunners are. Try them out of a bit and decide for yourself?

So from what I've read:
-put little armor
-change to CA 2 engine(heavy)
-keep t slots empty

So one last question
Should I use
-dual 7.9 3C D
-----or-----
-keep triple 6.1"

You should get some more speed out of the CA 2 heavy engine.

For guns in blitz, the dual 7.9 Type 3C D are also an option. They're lighter, hit harder
per shell (and tend to punch through a lot more armor without using AP), and have more
range. Mind the spread, though. If you want 10 defacto 8" guns, but don't care as much
about range, the Type 3B D are also available. But keeping range will help you a lot on
this boat...

Ammo-wise, I tend to run 1 bind of AP in the B-locker, and the rest LHE in A. That said,
AA may be sufficiently useful if you find yourself needing to shoot down a lot of scouts
and bombers. In GB2s, you should primarily run AA.

T-slots should be empty for blitzes. For GBs, mounting DC/HH/Torpedoes for ASW may be
reasonable.

Armor should be chosen so as to lose as little speed as possible. Often this is focused
on torpedo defense (0.2" belt, and a bit of bulge), though putting in a bit of bulkhead
(to maintain OH with more damage) may be worthwhile instead. IJN armor that isn't bulge
is of poor quality, early IJN ships tend to be short on displacement.

Mogami 1938 is the largest CL in the game, yet has somewhat low DP. That said, it can be
fast and have a range second only to KM CLs, while carrying CA-like firepower. Armoring
mainly means you can't keep out of range of as many ships or dodge as many shells/torpedoes.
