  • Best way to class USN Fighters?

I don't know how to post a link here, but there's a thread from 2008 in the tips and
tactics section showing graphs about pilots true ability from getting Fighter Pilot and
then not classing anymore, ACE and then not classing, or just normally up to Squad.
The reason for this is because the more you class, the more they gain displayd
ability, but they lose more crew growth.

It was done with KM pilots, but the conclusion is that it depends on how many vets
youre going to have on your pilot. This shows how to maximize your true ability
based on approx. how many vets you plan on getting on your fighters

0-120vets: Fighter Pilot and stop classing
120-218vets: Ace Pilot and stop classing
218+vets: Normal classing

I have some questions.
Is this information still relevant and accurate?
Do pilots still lose crew growth each tier?
Is there a cap on fighter ability?
Does this apply to USN fighters as they have the same classing as KM?
Can pilots still lose vets?
Can regular other crew still lose vets?

I know it's a lot of questions, but im really curious as to what i should do with my
fighters later on. I mean, if USN t4 fighters are already amazing, imagine them when
they're classed to the best of their ability, say 150 vets and stopped at ACE pilot.
Hope this info helped and go check the thread how to class fighters in tips and
tactics

I think there is a cap on fighters. My T3s level 95 B/V/E (110 Vets all Experted) can take
down us T4s with a 1:1 lose ratio aginst any level us T4. As for classing
AIRCRAFT ABILITY IS POINTLESS!!!
You can have special forces sailor up to level 40 then class into fighter the reason for
this is because you get a little bit more EXP for them being a spec ops instead of rookie
pilot.
(again AIRCRAFT ABILITY IS POINTLESS) on the other hand its been proven US Fighter pilots
with also good bomber ability DO HAVE MORE AA resiliance and are harder to take down so
try and aim for 11/11 Fighter/bomber or 12/10 or 11/10 fighters when rolling.
(bomber stat may be inactive now for FPs but im not 100% sure)

Current thinking about fighter ability is that there's still seems to be an ability cap
that a lot of fp's reach above lvl 100-110.
So ultimately whether you class further than fighter pilot doesn't matter in the end
when it comes to fighter ability, you'll hit the cap.

For getting the best secondary stats, don't class after fighter pilots. Bomber stat
doesn't not help any more, but repair and restore still do (assuming you have high
enough rep/rest bases). Every little bit there helps.

I think ill stick to ACE, as i will prolly vet them to possibly 150. Another slight thing to
consider though, is that SQ leader will have the least weighted pilots, if it matters
any

Here's the math

(left fighter at lvl 40) +34(base stat) 650(nr of sailors) 3758 (displayed ability) 260
(max nr of vets) x 4 = 1040 + 390 (max nr of experts) = 1430 x 3758 = 5373940
(classed as ace fighter) +37(base stat) 590(nr of sailors) 3977 (displayed ability) 236
(max nr of vets) x 4 = 944 + 350 (max nr of experts)= 1294 x 3977 = 5146238
(classed as sq leader) +39(base stat) 545(nr of sailors) 4087(displayed ability) 218
(max nr of vets)x 4 = 872 + 325 (max nr of experts) = 1197 x 4087 = 4892139

Thats for lvl 120 only... at lower lvls it wont be the same.. it all depends on the few
more vets/experts u get so it only works for max vets. The difference isnt very big
though... At lvl 120 u'll have about 450k more true ability (if fully experted and
vetted)

I sent in a ticket a while ago asking if there is a fighter cap and they said there
shouldn't be one, if there is one it should get fixxed they said :)

My fighters (elite) are currently lvl 117-118 with 247-249 vets and tbh i cant really
see much difference... Any fighter around lvl 120 will kick ass :) If i were u i wouldnt
waste the money :) I do always hear u shouldnt class to SQ leader though

but how easy is it to get 200 vets for each fighter?

That's probably $40 a fighter with prem conversion rate

i vote class all the way, w/ the US t4, as long as they dont nerf it down to hell, then, i
dont have to worry, class em right and pump them all w/ 200vets.

That being said, if you worry screwing up your fighters by not classing, class all the way.
