Could the server be set up that members could log in under their own account names and
passwords instead of the tester accounts?

I logged into 20 of the accounts today. Not one of them had enough credits in them to buy
a frigate, let alone anything else.

Also there were not any sailors in a few of those accounts.

The accounts which did have sailors, were unusable because the sailors were too low a
level or the ships that they could use were not able to be armed.

It is great to be able to test the Russian line ships, but in the test server you can't
see how it fairs against, say a Kitakami or some other ship unless the test includes those
ships.

It all goes back to things like when the Z99 first came out. remember those days? The
German DD-Z99 came out and could go head to head with a BB5 and kill it.

umpdump, perhaps you didn't read:

I started recently playing again, been a couple of years since I played before.

I brought the thought up about the torpedoes only to show mailman and the other mods that
there could be some good use of the test server so that new players will get a general
idea of how the game works and what ship lines that they might like to go with.

I did not bring it up for your troll's response. Stick to the topic or be quiet. Trolls
are not welcome here.

Now back to the topic....

I myself logged into an account tonight and was cussed at by another player for supposedly
hacking their brother's account. This seems to be the new going thing. I was even
threatened that they were going to report me....

I Laughed Out Loud about that and told them to feel free....

All I am really asking is that the test server has all nations and ships available with
all weapons so that players can use them to learn the game, learn to use Aiming FCS, and
learn to use their ships. That will make it better in the game. And, because it is a test
server and all aspects of the server are open, TNF and the Devs will get more input with
interaction with the new nations, ships, and the other classes of ships which are already
in game.

If you remember back to when the Z99 and DDX came out... they were so overpowered that 3
Z99 and 2 DDX could take on 10 BB5 and win the battle easily. Do we want the new nation
lines or new ships to have that kind of advantage when they get added to the game? I would
think not.

then if we cant have our own personal account setup for the test server why cant we
use the existing ones as our "personal" one. all we would have to do is have the pw
changed and only we'd be able to get on it

Referring to people thinking that the TS is a play area when they own their own account...
Forgive my overuse of the term "lol". A friend and I were laughing at the Charlemagne
with crap spread.

Side thought on this matter, but aiming this at MM: How about instead of people
being able to log on whatever account they want, if they log into an account one
day their IP gets logged and they can only use that account for the day. This would
keep them from jumping accounts and screwing a ton up, at least over a short
period of time. Obviously this would mean there would have to be some logging of
IPs going on here, but it would be erased at midnight PST every night so it wouldnt
become overly full.

This does not mean one player per account, it means one player can only access one
account. If he logs out of it someone else can still log in, but they couldnt get back
on until that someone logs off.

Rockmonster,

It's called bulge. No one has any pity for a tw dd that doesn't understand the
concept of bulge. Stay in blitz and out of GB if you want to learn how to play your
fubuki.

more accounts would be great, but as I said, I logged into 20 some odd accounts today
without any problems and there wasn't anyone playing there that I saw.

it might make it more active in testing if the was a specific amount of accounts for each
nation in testing and those accounts could only have access to that nations ship line and
sailor trees.

That would also help out the new players who are trying to decide what nation to go with.
They could log in on the test server and try each of the nations to see what nation they
want to use in the game and what ship line to go with.

I started recently playing again, been a couple of years since I played before. I made a
bad mistake this time. I went with the IJN line of ships. That was a big mistake now that
I see. I am running a fubuki and my torps don't do any damage to speak of. The only way I
get any points is to do a Great Battle 2 and pray my side wins. If I had been able to test
the fubuki in the test server first, I would never have gone with the IJN nation class ships.

another thought.

I agree with you on the other points mailman. It might make players more apt to play the
test server over the regular servers.

I will drop this issue one more time @ sde. Maybe the suggestion of more accounts will be an idea.

how about adding 200-300 more public accounts? that would make it harder for
someone to mess all of them

Sorry, personal accounts won't happen. It was discussed to endless lengths, and it is just
not doable at this point. The way it is now is the very most we have been able to get
done, and believe me, we have suggested this. Another problem with private accounts is
that people would begin to see the testserver as their 'play server' and that's certainly
not what we want. Your topic is already leaning towards that position... We have had so
many issues with that in the past....

Also a TNF logo in the real client (even a different color) wont happen either... How
would that work with a fleet logo for instance ? and also, being a 'tester' would not give
any moderating authority in the normal game, it just does not work that way. To much
confusion, especially for the players that are not that active on forums (quite a bit).
