Stormvanger
Finally got on with the latest test server patch. Proceeded to level a crew and jump into
one of the BB2... Izmail.

This battleship has the same turret layout as the sevastopol, including the two
"backwards" guns. It has 3500 more displacement than it needs to carry a level 120 crew
with it's intended guns (below), so potential for armor is good.

Speed - the battleship capped with a single 120 engineer. 39 knots at maximum load, 40
knots just under that, 42 knots with 5000 displacement remaining (not possible with full
turrets of normal guns). Turning force seemed somewhat low.

Guns - designed to carry the level 66 triple 14"/52 1913 guns, angle 30, damage seems
decent for a BB2. Other viable gunset is the level 64 triple 12"/52 1906 guns, also 30
degrees and similar damage output, but markedly lower range (4-5 ruler marks on the
guidelines).

T-slots - four AA-capable slots with 180 arcs of fire on each side, spaced very widely.

Spread - With 120 gunners, the shot scatter on the guns was very tight, HOWEVER... the
distance between guns and reversed pair guns make the ship behave as though it is using
Auto FCS. The shot pattern is so wide at it's narrowest setting, it's like a regular
battleship not converging guidelines at all. The guns are therefore good, but the
mounting arrangement greatly handicaps their use.

It being a premium nation, does not mean it will eb balanced to be more powerful than
other nations... that's a big no, and it won't happen... We will do our best to balance it
in place witht he existing nations, which in itself is hard enough

The other day I tested the the BB2s. So far I can work out that:
Izmail has better guns and speed, but lower DP.
Gangut has better DP, but has worse guns and speed.

At this stage you may feel the Gangut requires a nerf. However, if you look at the BB3, the
Khronstadt belonging from the Izmail line is inferior to the Gangut BB3, the IM.

I personally don't like the way KR balanced SN according to tier and ship line. I am hoping
the Izmail gets a speed advantage whilst Gangut the firepower, since this trend then
follows on to the BB3s (although Khronstadt is too crappy at the moment to do any real
rushing)

"question this is a prem nation or suppose to be, whats the difference between free
nations and russia, or is there any?"

You would have to "buy" access to SN (don't know if you played any of EA's game, but
they have an online store where you can buy access to new material in-game).

Yuno also specifically stated in his announcements it would most probably be a lifetime
access once you got one.

Otherwise, SN is just another nation like any other nations.

Good stuff, care to do one on the Gangut to compare?

Off topic here, but is there any chance that there is a ONF TS/Vent people can chat on?
For quick questions such as...Is the Komsomolets a CV1 or a CV2? I don't feel like
making a thread to ask such a question :S
