  • Patch procedure test - updated---

    02. 22. 2011 09:48

mailman
The devs are currently working on the Soviet patch for the live servers.

As some of you may know, the sprite files have been ninjaed in partially already. Still
it
seems like this patch is going to be a huge update.

Currently it looks like a 200+ MB patch, and that will cause issues.
Therefore there will be a test on the testserver to see if we can make things easier
for
the update on patch day.

The devs are working on a couple of solutions and they want to test it on the
testserver
in the coming days/week.

I will post more specific details as soon as I know more.

--Update--
I hope to have more information this wednesday/thursday (depending on which
timezone you're in :) ) Plan is to do something about it this week.

ive actually attended many and i even get people to help me test when u rnt doing
major testing. and its not about if someone is testing or not its about power abuse
from some mods and being disrespectfull...... thats the key point.

"I haven't seen you attend a test once."

it really doesnt matter if he tests or not tests.

hes not the only one who is seeing MOD's being disrespect to players with
questions [mainly ingame]

Swampfoxes; As much as I think TNF should be redone, your posts here are un-needed
and stupid. Mailman has put alot of time and effort into the test team, and I haven't seen
you attend a test once.

In short, if you don't have anything constructive to say, leave.

my response was in a similar fashion as the comment above my post...

If I was allowed to tell when it is going to be patched, I would have done so. In the
end it comes down tot he fact that SDE will announce it themselves.

As for the GM comment, I already discussed this with DarkGM regarding the tickets
you sent in.

Nubbles
I think it 200 mb is a long the lines of my expectations in terms of file size. The MN patch
was big as well, and that wasn't slowly ninjad in. I do think that the NFNA server needs to
allow faster downloads (straight from the NFNA FTP, was very low speed).

"How about you just keep an eye on the announcement section ??"

It was a joke regarding the slow speed of the project 24... I thought that would be
obvious?

@mailman
i knw & u knw that ppl dnt look at announcements when they have an open test
disscussion to read and ask instead of waiting for vick11 or GM to post the offical
notice.
but atleast give the everyone week notice prior to being patched so we can look
through our bum change to buy elites =)
