  • Defeating the DB Magic Circle

Hello, I'm wondering here for CV players on how to maneuver away and effectively counter
the constant COD from DBs. Somehow no matter how hard I try to intercept, they just keep
reeling all my fighters into one group and never hit the target until I run out of ammo.
I don't know if anyone has experienced this before but considering how fighters should be
able to chase bombers easily, I'm wondering how it's possible. I've never seen anything
like this before so just curious...

Yep, so many advanced strategies and etc and w/e but in the end fighters are going
to shoot down the bombers as always.

That dosnt always work but yeah thats the counter to the counter of the dive... Easily
countered back if you have 2 groups.

@V2 I'm guessing they never read up on how to cancel the dive and keep stay
moving at sea level, then when the fighters reach then simply maunally select a
bomb spot and cancel so the planes fly right back up like TBs do when they cancel.

Sigh* I'll miss doing that until I can grind up a KM F/B CV crew.

In order to defeat this you need 2 or more groups and you need to know how to kill planes
CODing with each other such as a scout CODing with a friendly scout or fighters CODing
with a friendly scout ect.

If you take all of your fighters out of the circle the enemy will just take his bombers
away giving him valuable distance between the bombers and fighters and you must chase them
down again. Most likely he will put them back into the circle frustrating the hell out of you.

Allow one group to remain in the COD circle with the bombers. Take the other group/groups
out of the circle and pick the proper angle to kill the bombers in the circle. repeat
until they are all dead.

By leaving one group to COD with the bombers if he does break the circle then your
fighters will simply follow them and shoot them down.

Alternately, I have noticed "the dive" has been making a comeback on Nebraska. I call it
"The Polish Dive" since I noticed both ORP and PP players use this alot. This is where a
CV player will manually dive his DB planes while they are being chased by fighters. The
fighters will dive too giving the bomber player more time.

The counter to this is terribly simple. As the enemy bombers dive, simply drag your
fighters around until they are on their way up and release. Your fighters will murder the
DBs quite quickly.

Plan your intercept route, and bring your fighters as close to the DB "dot" as possible
(on top of them is even better) then let the fighters auto-chase.

DBs can only pull off the manual COD if the distance between them and the chasing fighters
are greater than the fighters' turn radius. If you deny them that maneuvering distance,
they are easy to chase down.
