On February 25, 2011, a car driver collided with around 20 cyclists who were participating in the Critical Mass in Rua Jos?do Patrocinio in Porto Alegre, in southern Brazil. 150 people were taking part in the event. Dozens of bicycles were damaged, 15 people were injured and 8 were taken to the emergency room. The driver left the scene of the incident. Demonstrators remained on the street demanding that the driver be found and arrested. The driver was later identified as 47-year old Ricardo Jos?Neis. After Neis was taken into custody by police, his attorney, Luis Fernando Coimbra Albino, stated that the driver was acting in self- defense after several cyclists threatened him and his son and assaulted his car.
I think that it is bull **** that the cyclists assaulted Ricardo... He is just a ***** and needs to spend the rest of his life in prison.
