Put just the front two guns on and the cv engine for the guns put the 16inch trip d guns
with 4 sets of shells on both guns nothing in your t slots and 100 bulge your sodak will
now have a overheat speed of 50 knots best for charging in then running away after firing
a few shots off.

if you insist on using the l variant guns your overheat speed will be 45 to 47 depending
on your engineers

Having a terrible spread made worse buy having 3 less shells in the air means you risk not
putting steal on the target. If you are depending on speed to get you in, hit, then get
out, but you can't count on hitting.... that defeats the whole purpose.

"Its never worth trading firepower for speed. I would rather ditch a repair man then a gun."

I agree. However, Sodak firing full broadside has more chances of random spread than
using a 2 gun Sodak (actually applies to most US BBs TBH. Still, Sodak without front guns is
still deemed okay)

You are arguing that the up from 51 to 52 kts is worth the range loss of a L to R gun.

Being an owner of a SW Sodak, I know the speedcap is 50+ knots with the L variant guns.
I am using a level 100+/- crew (They are all full. None of them are skeleton), 3 binds of LHE
and 1 bind of AP. Together with 30 bulge (100 is too much anyway) and 0.2 belt. This Sodak
is speedcapped.

Okay, how about with the D variants?

The D variants STILL give you 51 knots (since you are speedcapped anyway, no big suprise).
However, the only beneficial part of fitting the D variants is that you can put 80 bulge instead
of 30 without losing a knot, plus you can put 11 binds of shell. However, is it worth it?
According to the US range chart, the 6 Ds can only range a BB1. On top of that, all Sodak guns
are bugged anyway, so spread is always going to be an issue. Surely a KGV with blockshot 14"
is nice, but this isn't blockshotting at all.

To lose so much range for the fact that you can mount more bulge and ammo is simply not
good enough. Sure, if you aren't speedcapped, that is another matter, but heck, the
performance would be even worse as you cannot retain a good amount of OH time. That
means running away is a problem, which kind of spoils the point of having a SW.

3 Knots difference in speed is not equal to the range difference of the 16Ls and the 16Ds.
At best the 3 knots will get you into range of your target with the shorter firing Ds in
the same amount of time as doing 47 knots will get you in range of the longer firing L
version (though I doubt its even). Now you are also closer in range, meaning longer way
to back out of range, and have also put yourself in range of some BB2s as well as the
other ships. Speed is extremely important but not to the degree of sacrificing
significant range.
