Being an owner of a SW Sodak, I know the speedcap is 50+ knots with the L variant guns.
I am using a level 100+/- crew (They are all full. None of them are skeleton), 3 binds of LHE
and 1 bind of AP. Together with 30 bulge (100 is too much anyway) and 0.2 belt. This Sodak
is speedcapped.
Okay, how about with the D variants?
The D variants STILL give you 51 knots (since you are speedcapped anyway, no big suprise).
However, the only beneficial part of fitting the D variants is that you can put 80 bulge instead
of 30 without losing a knot, plus you can put 11 binds of shell. However, is it worth it?
According to the US range chart, the 6 Ds can only range a BB1. On top of that, all Sodak guns
are bugged anyway, so spread is always going to be an issue. Surely a KGV with blockshot 14"
is nice, but this isn't blockshotting at all.
To lose so much range for the fact that you can mount more bulge and ammo is simply not
good enough. Sure, if you aren't speedcapped, that is another matter, but heck, the
performance would be even worse as you cannot retain a good amount of OH time. That
means running away is a problem, which kind of spoils the point of having a SW.
