Design a Banner/Logo for Kaiser Event Site

Well I was wondering if anyone out there would like to design a new banner for the
top of the Kaiser Event Site. (http://kaiserfl.proboards.com)
Also maybe a small logo for fleets to put on their websites that link to the event site.
And since I really dont know where to begin with this stuff, what would be the best
free progam to start messing around with? paint.net maybe?

Bumping to see if anyone wants to give it a shot.
I downloaded paint.net but i really have to read some tutorials or something
because im finding it very hard to design anything worthwhile.

Hey, I will try to work on a banner for you, for the people that do not own photoshop, I
do reccomend Paint.Net
