Well, I have to tell this story, its just too weird and ****ed up to not tell.
Last week, here in Denver we had a strange accident. A brand new Nissan crashed off I-76 into a bunch of propane tanks. The 21 year old driver was doing over a hundred, and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. I remember turning to my mom and commenting on how stupid the driver was.
I didn't think anything else of it, crap like that happens all the time across the country.
Well today I got a text from a friend, telling me he just got home and to google his name. I had not heard from him for over 5 days, and had no clue where he was. Still, I was not worried, I'd lost contact with him for about 2 years prior to finally getting a hold of him again.
So I google his name, and low and behold, the first ****ing thing that comes up is this crash in I-76. Turns out my friend was driving the brand new Nissan to the Dealership for work, and decided to test it out first.
I didn't even know a good friend of mine was in the hospital. Not to mention my personal comments about it on the news.
Thankfully he is home now, and while contacting him is hard because he is in such great pain, at least I know where to find him.
He is lucky to be alive, not to mention he has used up more lives then a cat at this point (flying off the motorcycle under a truck used about 6). But damn, talk about the news hitting close to home. I think the next time I see something like that I'll insert my foot in my mouth before I say anything.
