BoRe
I believe I cleared the virus. I restored my laptop to factory defaults and lost all of
my information and stuff. Not totally a bad thing. But now my laptop no longer
detects our wireless internet.

I used to be able to just hit "Connect to a Network" and refresh a couple of times
and our networks would come up, but now nothing happens. The wireless internet
on our other computers still works but just not on mine. I don't think I had to install
a CD or anything to connect. I think when resetting my laptop it removed whatever
program I need to find wireless networks. Right now I have the yellow ethernet cord
plugged into my laptop to get online.

What do I need to do to get my wireless working again on my laptop?

Edit: BTW what is the best internet browser? I used IE about 2 years ago and have
been using Firefox since.

I had a similar problem on a Sony Vaio of mine. You know what worked? Pinching as hard as
I could around the area where the wireless switch is. No lies!

Hehe, you need the wireless LAN driver.

I have a Gateway FX p-6831
I am currently googling it and searching for drivers.
I am installing a modem driver...
Nothing changed. I'm at this site:

Hey Bore,

You need to download the drivers for your laptop. I had to do the same for my IBM T42.

Google your laptop name and specific model. Mine is IBM T42 Type 2378.
^^^You have to look on the bottom for specific number (in my case 2378).

Then you can download your drivers. my bets are your laptop uses an intel wlan modem?

If you cant find it, post your laptop model here.

Nothing has physically been removed or damaged between yesterday (when I was able to
connect to wireless) and today other than I reset to factory defaults.
