I've stood toe to toe with 8" gun CAs with a Brooklyn. You've got 15 six inch shells
flying at them! I'd say you probably have your crew setup wrong or you aren't using the
ship right.

First, use your OH to close range quickly. Don't drive north and south pounding away from
a distance, this is blitz so get close, fast! Then, pull up alongside and slam them with
full broadsides. That means along side him like you are racing. Use reload gunners so that
you'll be able to hit them more than they hit you. Having some torpedoes on board is also
a good idea. Save them for a critical moment. If you are alongside your enemy and it looks
like he may win, give him the torps and force him to turn away. Then turn tail, give him a
smaller target and get out of range.

I don't see how these ships are reloading faster than you are or gunning you down. I'm
thinking that you might have gunners that are classed only for accuracy. Also, you most
likely are using auto FCS meaning that you aren't landing the full weight on the shells.
If you get close and pull alongside, you won't need manual mode.

The Brooklyn isn't really a CL fighter. As others said, the Cleveland with dual 8 is
much better against CLs. As far as I remember, every other CL2 outranges the
Brooklyn.
If the Svetlana is good, there's really not too much the Brooklyn can do against it. If
the Svetlana is bad, it should be sinkable.
The Brooklyn is still the best anti-DD light cruiser in game, and you do a lot of
damage. It's just the lack of range that hurts. In Hobbit Wars blitzkrieg games,
people don't use range all that much, and you should often be able to get in range
and hurt the Svetlana a lot. If not, you're still better against DDs.

brooklyn isn't meant to play a range game with CL's+ as it is more of a dd killer.

If you want to be more competitive against a svetlana then try the cleveland with 8"
since it has better penetration and range IIRC.

If your gonna do that with the brook do a hit and run use your speed to your advantage and
slingshot.

Brooklyn is better for killing DDs fast. The trip 6" have shorter range than most other
CL2. You need to play the hit&run tactic with its speed.

Cleveland with dual 8" is the CL/CA killer.
