Hello,

Guy's maybe some one as had this problem and knows a fix.

I have a latop with 4 GB mem, 350 GB HDD, windows 7 etc. When i start the game
its like in the middle of the screen (like left and right of the game is black)? Also i
seem to freeze when i enter games some time and for some reason get pretty sick
lag(even with a really good land line etc)?

Any tips/info would be very welcomed at this time.

thanks

to play with settings here's is mine they work for me.
screen resolution is at 1024 by 768 pixls color is at highest (32bit)
very little lag so far ya old laptop OS is XP pro 64bit hope this helps you out.

Capt, you have posted the same thing 3x in this thread. 1024x768 is the native
resolution of navyfield. However, if you are using a widescreen monitor on a laptop,
it will force the game to fit the resolution, hence the blackbars. This can be solved by
using an external monitor (whether widescreen or not)

similar things happen to me... bought new laptop with W7 as OS a year ago... same
occurances like u and up till now I haven't been found any fix yet... i did post the same
topic and reply to similar topic but still, no solution to this problem... from my
knowledge, NF seems to maintain same aspect ratio for W7 and needed other monitor to run
in full screen... sigh... that is troublesome... was wondering what will happen to NF if
newer window or OS comes out.

about lag issue... not much except if i'm using wireless... for game freezes, well
sometimes... and i kinda get used to the small NF view gameplay now ;)... and if u ask me
what setting that i've tried, so many, i've tried all the suggestion given but still no
avail...

It is impossible to get rid of the 2 black bars... you can only make them smaller
without the possibility of reversing it. SDE needs to upgrade their code or something
to allow the game to be played on a full screen laptop.

On windows vista and windows 7, NF will try to retain it's original aspect ratio
(1024x768). The only way around it is to use an external monitor if it bugs you that
much.

@ captoddjob: Thanks I'll give it a try at those settings. Last time i tried is just made
the navyfield part monster sized, but still had the boarders. My laptop screen is 15.6"

As for the lag its all gone, I'm guessing it was on the service providers side.

same case occured to me (screen border appearing)

it use to be normal and the NF videofeed use to be fit to fullscreen with my 15"
Widescreen

but about 1 weeks ago, after i updated my nvidia card driver,
since thursday i start use my notebook to play again the smilar case occured.

reinstall did not solve this, and after i read some of the reply,
guess it is possiblely more related to the graphic driver that twisted the setting a bit.

The NF is set a certain ratio to stretch in to wide screen you would need to go to video
settings (I'm assuming since it's a laptop you don't have an overly fancy graphics card)
and find something resembling stretch to fit. As for the lag and such I would try a wired
connection or a wireless connection that has little activity on it. NF despises wireless.
