I dont care about the Fed, America or your personal grudge against whatever, but this

"the value of gold doesn't neither increase nor decrease it always had and always will
have the same value - the value of the metal itself and the value of the work it takes to
find and prepare it"

is a dumb thing to say going by logic only. It seems you are mixing two value theories.

The metal itself has no value or where does that value, according to you for all times,
stand written? It is worth as much as someone is willing to exchange for it. Look at the
trade and barter section here for example, there is no fixed value.

Secondly, do you think the amount of work to find and prepare gold between lets say 100
B.C. and 2011 A.D. is the same? Picture one guy with a shovel and one sitting on an excavator.

If you want to educate yourself youtube is not the proper place for that. Furthermore,
please proof read your titles, it is embarrassing to talk about the grey cells of others
while neglecting the basics of written conversation.

SDE cares.

Wow: someone's a grumpy bear....

"that surely isn't you otherwise you would have made a lot of money in the last 2 years by
doing exactly the wright thing and getting rid of paper money - the general view onf
financial things is like the view a horse has when it wears blinders"

Continue to buy gold, and have fun with that; you're looking at a tiny slice of the pie,
but oh well. I won't get into my money situation with someone on an online forum, though
as I said earlier, I am quite content with how my investments have played out in the last
ten years. If I took advice from people like you, I'd still be in debt and paying off my
student loans.

"funny how i hit a weak spot it seems, seeing that 90% of the economics you hear on the
media are stupid like a flying pile of dog poo, theres no world outside their paper world
and that's why they are currently losing a load of money "

I don't really watch the news, seeing as it is 99% entertainment and 1% information.
Anyone getting their information there is blinded, so I seek to educate and inform myself;
it has worked well enough so far.

"i could go to the church too then, they also "believe" and know jack shit"

When you come here with some relevant information, I'll begin giving credence to what you
have to say. For now, though, I have better things to do that argue with someone who is
obviously blinded by some Youtube videos they're taking at face value (no
different than your church metaphor). Have fun with that :)

If you need a cartoon to learn about the Fed, American banks, and their relationship to
politics, then I pity you.

Maybe you can catch a night class in macroeconomics, as most

is obvious who here has one and who doesn't (concerning economics, at least). Buying in to
whatever you read on the internet is he quickest way to get me and other people in the
financial realm to completely ignore what you have to say.

"2. the value of gold doesn't neither increase nor decrease it always had and always will

The value of gold is whatever someone will pay for it. Stockpiling something like that
will only work if the value of gold stays high. Bottlecaps could be just as effective a
currency if people put value into them.

"all that happens is that the unfree market gets flooded with colored toilet paper
(dollar, euro, whatever) and so decreases the value of the fiat currency "

I agree- money technically isn't worth the paper it is printed on, but the vast majority
of people think otherwise. This has been the case since before either of us was born, and
will be the case long after we're both gone. People have claimed that the system is
falling for decades, but (for better or worse) it is still here.

I did watch the whole video, and found it entertaining; anyone who isn't aware of what
they're getting into as far as banking deserves to lose all their money and any property
gained through it (yes, I'm aware this also hurts me, but I can deal with it). The dollar
has been declining for quite a while now, American banks have never been safe and/or
stable investments/institutions, and anyone who needs a 30 minute cartoon to tell them
that is an idiot. Fearmongers have long predicted this sort of downfall, and this video
actually did a pretty good job of describing why banks are declining until it ventured
into 'tinfoil-hat land' towards the end. I have no direct G&S investments, though I am
quite content as to how my financial future will play out :)

Gold isn't a good investment for the last few months- trying to catch the tail end of a
wave never ends well. I'm sure someone will come here saying, "Well Valefar, look at how
prices have risen recently!" Everyone cites the vast increase in gold prices over the last
few years, but those jumps are inflated by the fact that everyone and their brother is
over investing in that realm; prices rise because lots of people invest, and people invest
because prices rise (currency of fear). Buy as much gold as you want; all bubbles
eventually burst, but safe investments are almost always the better choice in the long run.

so valefar, that stuff doesn't seem new to you so i hope you already bunkered some G&S -
the collapse of the dollar is just beginning, gold is exploding right now
