How on earth did you let them go out like that Angus?

I mean, seriously... They are like PCA's... A complete class above all the others.

"Well... SN has "Long gun range" and "Powerful gunfire"..."

And we are back to the core problem of SN and its imbalances. Since you claim to play KM
you should know everything KM givess for its range, which gets less and less apparent the
further down the BB line you get.

"But why compare the best CA soviet tree could offer with average or under-average ships?
Of course it would look OP."

You should try Dland out and you would not be saying the same thing. Dland is extremely
hard to play in alot of situations because of speed limitations, poor damage per salvo,
long reload, and low durability but I dont think anyone that knows how to play it would
call it average or below average.

"And dont forget about the soviet BB1. MG replaces this ugly fat thing. Take that into
consideration (:"

BB1 is another discussion. And considering the PCA is what normally replaces a nations
weak BB1 you just gave validity to the MG's imbalance.

"This ship is less than useless at lvl"

Most ships are pretty useless at level. You cant balance considering an at level crew or
it becomes imbalanced with a high level one.

"MG with 10" also ranges PPro. You dont see a problem there?"

Well... SN has "Long gun range" and "Powerful gunfire"...
But I agree, give MG -2 knts.

"CA tiers arnt exactly relevant to this discussion."
Okay then... Compare D-Land with Krasnij Kavkaz and its 4x1 7.1 turrets or poor
Rurik with 2x2x10"/50 Pattern 1891...
MG may be overpowered in some parameters. But why compare the best CA soviet
tree could offer with average or under-average ships? Of course it would look OP.

And dont forget about the soviet BB1.
MG replaces this ugly fat thing. Take that into consideration (:
-----------
P.S.:
Why dont we add +1/2 acc to the 10"/50 Pattern 1891 set?
Because of the Rurik...
This ship is less than useless at lvl. It has 2 turrets, 4 guns, horrible spread.

"May I ask why are you comparing Gorki with D-land?
D-land is CA1 and Gorki is CA3..."

CA tiers arnt exactly relevant to this discussion. You might understand things better if
you've played in normal uncapped CA rooms regularly. DD/CL/CA tiers are not the same as BB
tiers.

"Gorki with 10" goes 28 knts, P-pro with 11" goes 27 knts. Both have 6 barrels. Gorki
does twice the damage."

MG with 10" also ranges PPro. You dont see a problem there?

"According to my experience soviet guns have really poor spread at lvl and long time after."

So does KM with both 8 and 11". You dont get a decent spread with any KM gun after CL
until 14.96" duals. Anyway ships are not balanced for at level crews anyway.

I have a few people to help me out with damage testing and they should be done sometime
this week.

May I ask why are you comparing Gorki with D-land?
D-land is CA1 and Gorki is CA3...
---------------------------------------------
So MG/P-pro:

Let's compare chart numbers:

2x11" Kust H L range 31.7
3x11"/52 SK C/28 L range 31.6
3x11"/54.5 SK C/34 range 33.1
3x11"/54.5 SK C/34 D range 29.7
(source: http://navyfield.com/board/view.asp?
Num=79868&Sort=D07&Order=re_upday&PageSize=20&Page=1&SearchPart=title&S
earchText=range&Ctg_1=&Ctg_2=&Ctg_3= )

3x7.1"/57 B-1-P Pattern 1932 range 28.3
2x10"/50 Pattern 1891 range 26.8
2x10"/50 Pattern 1908 range 32.1
(source: http://www.navyfield.com/board/view.asp?
Num=193378&Sort=A05&Order=re_upday&PageSize=20&Page=1&Ctg_1=&Ctg_2=&
Ctg_3= )

Gorki with 10" goes 28 knts, P-pro with 11" goes 27 knts. Both have 6 barrels. Gorki
does twice the damage.
But according to my experience soviet guns have really poor spread at lvl and long
time after. I have SN lvl 75 BV gunners and KM lvl 81 BV gunners.
(of course if you do the testing with 120 lvl supercrew you get different results)

I didn't mention 7.1 because this setup is only good if you want SW and you get poor
spread and poor damage (249ps).

No, I don't.

I know the speed, armor, and range of the Maxim needs nerfing though.

You still don't get it angus.

7.1" trips are for the Kirov, and an option for the Maxim Gorky if the player wants to
sacrifice range for speed and a faster reload time.

"(And hmm, Dland can use a displacement increase)"

No Dland is fine and you are missing the point. Its not the speed that is the main issue.
The main issue is that MG has 2 sets of useable guns. Both options make it OP.

PS can use KM 8" right? It would give alot more speed and ammo along with much better
reload. Why dont people do 8" on PS?

What it comes down to for the most part is what is the purpose of the 7.1" trips? Are they
for the Krasny Kavhaz? Surely they are quite OP for a level 42 ship right?
