UK AA is simple.

go reload gunners, not AA, unless you want pom poms which suck

secondly the best UK AA platforms are the ECl emerald and any BB4-6 (NOT
RECOMMENDED)

UK AA has crap reload even with reload gunners, but like mentioned earlier one well
timed shot and all hell breaks loose for that plane/planes.

Also little tip, i find in terms of effectiveness the 5.25 inch RP 10s are the best AA
guns out there for UK, i personally use the N model because it has more range, and
the slower reload doesnt matter because the reload sucks anyways.

N.1 tip for UK AA.... time your shots well.

DD - You are right about most of that. Except Emden is the KM ECL, you are thinking of the
Emerald. Also a lot of people use a second set of reload gunners not for AA on their bb,
but for HHing.

I use RP10A.
Looks like a funny ship with carapace and shooting AA.


Plus, I use them to rape the sub/small ship/cv popping next to me with HE.

These people probably don't even have their own set of AA gunners. I do.

With the AA gunners they will be 100+ tons lighter than reload/accuracy gunners at
lvl 120. Having a pair means 200+ tons lighter. The A varient guns are also half the
weight of the normal guns. The 5.25 double RP 10 A gun is 115 tons and 2.24
reload and only takes up 50 gun space. If you have AA gunners and those guns
you're saving yourself 550+ tons compared to heavy gunners and the heavier
normal D varient guns on the emerald.

On my Queen Victoria I have the pleasure of filling up all my T slots with the Pom
Poms(deadly controlled machine gun with huge amounts of ammo) and bulge and
still go 24/40.

I use reloads for my mains and acc for my HH on my L2 and works great for me, but
everyone has their own set up, and taste

Before the patch i went reload gunners instead of aa. You'll never sweep the sky
with uk aa, but 1 well timed shot will gut the heart of any bomber/tb group.
Advantage of reload over aa in a ship like the emerald is some wicked dps to
anything that gets in range, even bb's.

With aa its all about reload.... Class which ever way gets the most. Don't know
what ability you need to hit the cap, that'd be the nuber to find out to answer your
question.

This is only if you want to use pom pom aa guns. If you want to use the heavier aa UK
guns, you go reload gunners.

The later you class him the better he will be.
Since RN has DP gunners classed like IJN the safest bet would be lvl 78+

What are the advantages?
Better accuracy and reload growth. On top of that the sailor will be a bit lighter.
