  • MN Ship lines/speeds

Due to the lack of discussion about MN's 2 BB lines and their speeds, I'm starting
one.

MN has 2 ship lines, the Lyon line and the Normandy line.

Comparing ships of the same tier, these are the current stats:

Lyon
More firepower (4 quads)
Slower (35kn)

Normandy
Less firepower (3 quads)
Faster (39kn)

EBB2: Le Harve
Decent speed (37kn)
More firepower (4 turrets)
1 more support (7)
1 more bind of ammo (6 binds)

My question:
Should the quad 13.5" guns get an accuracy buff? And by how much? If buffed,
should there be a damage nerf? And again, by how much?
Should the Le Harve get a better FCS? And which FCS?
(Screenshots will be below.)

Lorraine
More damage per gun (dual 13.4")
More range
Less broadside shells (4 guns)
Slower reload
42kn without AA, 40 with AA

Paris
Less damage per gun (dual 12")
Less range
More broadside shells (5 guns)
Faster reload
42kn without AA, 40 with AA

My question: The Lorraine is better than the Paris right now. What should be done to
the Paris to make it in par with the Lorraine without making them clone ships?

My first idea, reduce the reload of the 12"s significantly, so the 12"s out DPS the
13.4"s.

My other idea, increase the speed of the Paris by 1 kn, and swap the BB1/2s around
ship tree wise so they fit. (eg, Lyon is the slow, more firepower line, Normandie is the
lower firepower, faster line)

Once the BB1 remods are decided, it will be much easier to the BB1s. Submergence
of these ships will be covered in the submergence thread.

The main issue with the MN speeds is the small hitboxes they have at BB123. Is it possible
to nerf the submergences in line with the worst of that tier, and buffing the speed while
nerfing the turning?

Gunset wise, I don't know what the salvo damages are like compared to other nations, the
main thing to remember is the BB123 as a whole are pretty messed up

Not easily, and the Montana can do it vice versa. Also, the Montana already goes 40, and has
more DP. The submergence of the Alsace will be nerfed to below the Montana, which also
has a higher damage output (only slightly)

Remember that also currently and even post patch, Alsace has worse spread, and I longer
reload.

42 knots is fine for the Alsace. MN are meant to be fast...

When you going to deal with the 42 knot MN BB5 Alsace?

You can't finish one nation as a whole if certain tiers aren't balanced to begin with. I.e. BB3,
and to a similar extent, BB1 and 2.

Most of the submergence values are messed up. We can balance the ships to what they
SHOULD be, but they could still be overpowered/underpowered until we deal with the tier as
a whole.

On top of that, we should look at one tier at a time. This is so disorganised. And having two
vastly different playstyles for a nations BB's just because there are different ship lines is a
horrible idea. Just look at how that played out with SN.

We need to finish MN as a whole before the release of the MN/SN patch.

Concentrate on one ship tier at a time.

I think the 13,4" guads are good now. The Le Havre is slow on low lvl but over lvl80 it's
a nice and well ballanced ship. I haven't tried the other BB-2-2,5s.
