Add up what you need. As an Northampton user, I will tell you that it will take some time
to get used to it. You are a CA and need to keep distance. The most important thing
though is that you need armor. Maybe 3 inches of belt for battles. Don't jump into an
"all welcome" game with a NH without that. I don't really suggest buying one without
enough to equip it with at least that much.
One thing is for certain...the NH gives your sailors room to grow with 4 sailor support
slots (1 extra sailor over a Brooklyn) and 1120 more displacement to use. Also, I get
full experience for level 38-56 sailors and a Brooklyn only gets 80%.
So the Brooklyn may be able to go faster and fling out more shells quickly but my
Northampton can do more damage to British armor with 8 inch shells, load more armor (CA
armor protects more than CL armor too), train 9 sailors instead of just 8, and get 20%
more exp per battle.
I didn't listen to anyone in my decision except myself...besides...I didn't want to get
stuck in an Alaska. Personally I think the Alaska and the Guam are too flippin huge plus
the Guam is a remodel and you don't get back that money right?
