In my honest opinion, Brookyln does not fair at all as an AA ship. However, it doesn't
mean an aa luny like me wouldn't shove some aa guns on one. If you seriously thinking of
adding aa guns... I suppose adding the 6" AA turrets would do, which I can't remember the
lvl for them out of the top of my head. However your chances of actually shootng rapid is
lost since you're better off with the 3" and 5" in matter of actually shooting off your
shells more than once. So I only recommend using those 6" AA only if you feel confident
and if you have another AA ship backing you up. Probably best to only stick around with a
BB or CV with that a broo or higher aa ship. Best choice AA in the USN line is
Atlanta-Oakland hands down. DD such as the somers, gearing, and DDX are excellent choices
for aa as well. But the Atlanta-Oakland is best overall due to their higher DP, more gun
slots, you can carry more sailors = more veterans and experts, and you can shove in a lot
more bulge, which you'll need.

US AA guns really need some serious un-nerfing.

The second 3"/50 single should fire faster, the 3"/50 twin should have an 'A' version (and
fire faster to boot), and both should have AAA shells.

The 5"/38 single should be lighter and faster, and have better range.

The twins need un-nerfage too, but since they are actually used and dont fit on the brook
anyway, I'll leave that be for now...

Theoretically, putting 3"/50's or 5"/25's shouldn't be a bad idea if you have lots of
problems with aircraft. Basically what you're trying to do is soften them up and finish
off with AAW when they attack. Of course, you'll still more than likely hafta dodge.

If you want to actvely kill planes, however...

1. Put 6"/47's on your R slots. You'll lose a lot of surface combat capability though.

2. Upgrade to Cleveland, and put 3"/70's on your T slots. Just about any other nation's AA
ships will outrange you, however.

3. Go back to Atlanta/J2/Oakland. 3"/70 N's with reload gunners are your best bet. Dont
forget to bring your AA gunners tho.

I thought the Cleveland was a waste of money also just looking at the stats for it,
but when I hit level 43 I was sick and tired of being CV food. I just happened to
have a 1.3 million credits at the time so I bought the Cleveland and fell in love with it
the first time I drove it, the Brooklyn is the only other ship I had that reaction with.
However the Cleveland has room for the dual 3" 70 which meant I could shoot down
most planes that came at me and dodge the rest (most of the time LOL) so I lived
longer in battles. I also had higher attck scores in my Cleveland, 36K was my
highest in my Brooklyn, I have had more then 30 games higher than that in my
Cleveland. My Cleveland record is 68k.

the brooklyn's T slots are for the X4 mark 15 torps at lvl 32 dmging 12k per torp for
uber DD bashing as the guns werent enuf to make it a nightmare for any DD that
come close. so yes AA guns for brook is useless as they have no dual A type guns
for them.

i have a cleveland, reason i got it was I bought a baltimore and w/o armor its not that
good of a ship ,so I sold it and wanted to try something new

Its kinda nice has much more armor, more health, and can carry 5x12K damage torps with
better angles

I did not like any of the AA gun options for the Brooklyn (in the secondaries) so once
I tried the various options I just ran with no secondaries and used the mass for
armor instead. However I had to learn to dodge the TB's and DB's real quick and
you can not always do it.

CV driver will also look for guys that do not have any AA guns and try to target them
first, I could not get to the Cleveland fast enough.
