Nice shots, Guido! I hope to have the free time this weekend to finally figure out
how to post some pics here. What size do you guys think is best to use?

@ Bemme- Canon does rock, if you can afford it. I was able to convince my wife that
if we were taking a once in a liftime vacation, we needed a once in a lifetime camera
to capture the memories. We took around 4000 pics on out 10 day trip and have
several matted and framed for our living room and dining room, but I have seen a lot
of nice shots taken by the powershot series as well.

@ Ramp4ge- Welcome to the hobby! I've seen some good things from the Sony
cameras too. Try not to get too addicted, it can be an expensive hobby! But just
remember, like anything else the more you do it, the better you'll get. There are
times I hate carrying a bag around with me, but I hate it more when I go damn, I
wish I had my camera right now!

The switch to digital is the best thing to happen to cameras imho. Yeah, I know, a lot
of people like the look of film a lot better; but I could never have afforded to take 400
pics on vacation if I was using film, and imagine carrying it all around all day! See
something you'll never see again? Shoot it 10 times if need be to make sure you get
a great shot, who cares! Delete the one that didn't focus or expose right. Your not
wasting frames of film. Your not paying to print out a roll of film to find out that half
didn't turn out. As long as your memory cards hold out keep on shooting!

Sorry, I didn't mean to go on so long. Oh well, its time for bed anyway.
later on,
pman

I've done alot of photography at car races I've attended. My main tools are a Nikon
Coolpix 5700, and an 8700 my dad has. A couple pictures I have taken have
appeared in the souviner programs of a couple of races (12 Hours of Sebring, Petit
Le Mans)

Tachikaze, knowing how much good glass is, I totally understand not wanting to give
up your equipment and start over. All I had was a cheap point and shoot so it was a
lot easier for me to do.

My shop uses Nikon D70s. I pretty solid SLR at 6mp but does have tendancy
to moire photographed patterns such as a cloth weave.

I've got a Canon 350D the Rebel XT, that I've had for about 8 months, and I know
that I've just barely scratched the surface of what this thing can do. I love the clarity
and color in my better pics, but I hate how much it costs to buy new glass for it. After
I bone up on image hosting, I'll post a few for you.
