You physically build a 3d model of it in a program (Be it that, 3DS Max, Milkshape, etc), then you scale it and convert it to a file the game can recognize as a 3D model. Then, the game sees the ship as what it is--an ingame, 3D model.
It's still missing the torp housings.
Does the game support animations? As in, rotating turrets? If so, are you modeling the turrets as separate models? Or--how's that work in C&C:G? I know in games I've modded, rotating sections are completely different meshes, more often then not.
