I'm not getting the right feeling from 13L.. dunno why.. maybe a bug in the reload
clock or a really bad lag between hitting space and the salvo

I see that Mark 12 are higher level than the 13 or 14 ? wth ? and pricer too.. any
hidden advantages ?

at lv49 the /55 RF appear.. at a staggering 10,000 apiece... should I drool in
anticipation or do they suck ?

What about an alternative setpu of 3x6" fast reloading as DD killers ?

i've explained this like half a billion times -.-

mk13L has (slightly) more range and is a little easier to use (to me). however, it's
simply crappy in terms of firepower. mk14N has more firepower per shell and has
better armor penetration with HE than the mk13 shells, so if you don't carry AP you
can do at least some damage to heavily armored CA+ ships. and chances are you
won't carry AP since you only hold 4 binds.

the firepower is everything, really. US CA's already get the short end of the stick
when it comes to range, so not much use using mk13L for a slight range advantage
over mk14.

my thinking is to use mk13L until your gunners can handle mk14 decently, probably
around lvl 48 (full or near-full ability).

mk14 also weighs a little less than mk13L if you're so concerned with armor o.O

I personaly chose the 3x8"/55 Mk 14 N, I prefer the extra dmg and in my opinion,
are the best guns.

the 12"D are fun and all but, seriously... a Frigate can outrange you.

New Orleans is realy good once you can get some Armor on it though, thing can hold
more than most british ships.

The 8"/55 Mark 13L have a slight range advantage over the 8"/55 Mark 14N. The
Mark 14, in turn, does a bit more damage. Do NOT get the 12" twins. Their
maximum elevation is only 15 degrees, and thus, their range is horribly short (DDs
will outrange you at times.) I'm pretty sure most New Orleans users either use Mark
13L or Mark 14N. Personally, I went for the Mark 14N for my newbie New Orleans.
My gunners can't handle it yet (I knew that before I bought it) but I'd rather have
more damage when I have the chance to deal it.

I'll note that the poor range there is, in fact, historical. It's just not useful at all in
the game.
