for all games i use the brook guns on the clveland but the clevelands aa (3/70)

8 inch dual spread blows to much it wasnt worth the range + the reload is really slow

btw the money from aaing is very nice :DD

von, do you use 8" N ?? 2 binds aren't enough for all welcome..
8" D have nearly super nearly same range as 6" L

brook has enough speed to dodge db

how can you all play with clevelands spread?? i'm lvl 48 and still have horrible spread..

When playing all welcome games I prefer the Cleveland to the Brooklyn because of the superior AA that the Cleveland can carry. I can average about 500 credits from AA alone when I have some divebombers to shoot at.

I prefer the Brooklyn for DD/CL games or any large game that doesn't have any carriers.

torps on brook:

Good:

You can have a lot of them.
Maybe keeps dds at range.

Bad:

Distracts from guns when you can kill them in 2 gun salvos anyways.
Takes away armor.
Useless against other cls, except maybe sirius

Torps on a brook are kinda good, when you are playing a Ops Convoy, but not very good idea in a regular battle, because when you put torps on, your only allowed to on enough torps for one spread, and you mioght want to use it the displacement for armor, but torps are still kinda of good.

I had torps on my brook, only 1 side tho (so 4 torpedo tubes), that way I could start out on B, shoot off my torps at the start of battle, maybe catch an unsuspecting DD or 2, and hten continue on my way to shoot my guns left and right.

Cleveland with dual 8 owns the brook. Put all deck armor on the cleveland and use dual 8 d or n. Then go out and do cl only, the brook will usually not get in range, if it does, run and fire at the same time, even if he keeps you in range, he will only be hitting about 60s off your deck.

The Brooky rocks.

It is the only CL i am afraid of when I am in my Balti (Well it and HAing Oaklands but that is a differant story)

A decent Brook driver can own any Noob CA Driver (The CA can't really hit you and once you are in range with those 15 6" guns it's all over)

A decent Brook driver will own almost any other CL (At the same or lower level) in a CL\DD game (Might have SOME problems in CL only games but if you drive it right you can still own)

I run mostly belt with a little bit of deck (Because you need to get close) and no AA or Torps (I have only been in a situation or two where torps might have been handy. Use the weight and crew space for armor/to level up crew for your bigger ships) The single AA guns don't do much more than make the Airplanes Angry.

I only briefly drove a Cleavland so I don't know much about it ( I am thinking about buying one just to try it out)

Cleveland also dominates CL only battles, although there arent many of those nowadays.
