icecapitan,

Use the first set of 6incher lvl 33
with 2 binds light HE and 2 binds heavy HE
and pile on the belt up to 12" depending on crew

ok nvm here is sirius with single7.5s

Sirius: 5 x single 7.5" (compared to Sirius: 5 x dual 6")
Pros:
- longer range than dual 6"
- better accuracy
- harder hitting
- Lighter wieght = more armor
- more xp due to bigger gun

Cons:
- slightly longer reload

I didn't even use the deck armor on my siruis. I ran as much belt as i could fit. I used the 6" 45 cal Type D guns. And played cl fast and cl/ca.

That's about perfect, except if you've got credits for swapping between guns go for the 45D's for DD/CL games & OC, or the 45 L's in a CL/CA/BB game.

Right now I'm running my sirius with the following configuration:

5 x Double 6"/ 45 BL Mark XVII (The lvl 33 ones)
5.5" of Belt armor
1" of Deck armor

My T mounts are empty, and I'm running a fairly full crew (Two gunners, BO, Repairer, Restorer, Engineer, & 2nd Seaman, all full).

I can't think of how the ship could be set up much better. I've used other guns, notably the L's of the same type, but they don't give you enough ammo, and the lvl 38 50's, but their long reload isn't worth the extra damage and slightly less ammo (3 binds as opposed to 4).

The armor cost around 435,000 credits, but its worth it. A lot of ships do VERY little damage to me, even CLs and CL2s. It's not the best against long-range CL2s such as the Mogami, but if you can get in range of your guns, you can come out on top of a ship even as large as the Mogami or the Northhampton.

The trick is getting close enough so that their shots hit your belt and not your deck, without getting too close so that their shells will just blast through your armor.

Its a medium-range ship, but you don't really have any long-range options with the sirius. It holds its own very well against DDs, even a small swarm. Against bigger ships, you have to get close fast or you won't last very long. I've heard of people running ridiculous amounts of belt on a Sirius, but even if you have the cash, I would argue against that, as your crew is more important.
