sometimes, oneor both sets of turrets/torpedoes slows down or stops turning completely. it is really annoying bacause then i ahve to go into battle with only one set of turrets firing the right way. the slowed down/stopped ones are firing the opposite way, and tey aren't going to aim right very soon. it happens way to often. i am lvl 20 with a fletcher.

P.S does it have something to do with the turrets' reliability?

Auto is weird like that. If you are turning and your turrets lock, just click to that your ship turns the other way for an instant. it will unlock your turrets. if you start out and your turrets are stuck on one side, just turn that direction and they should unlock. also, toggling the ctrl switch seems to help occasionally :)

Sometimes when making a steep turn either your port or aft guns will have a very slow turning rate. Assuming you have TDA on and that's not the issue, tapping the shift key will usually bring them back to their normal speed.

Also pressing T with auto and then switching back to R helps sometimes as well as when seeing slow moving turrets click near where the gunline is and when it reaches the new aimpoint that is closer it fixes itself normally

ok, i'll try pressing B and if thatdoesn't work, i'll go manual.

It happens to Manual as well, but only when you turn while one of your guns is either maxed to the star or to the port and then turn into the direction opposing to it.

To fix it with Manual (fastest way) is to press "B" and immediately click to where you want to turn to again while trying to turn the turret, you might try something similar with Auto.

this happens with auto, best way to get rid of it is use manual

manual rocks, auto well plain and simple just sucks

Sounds like a bug in the auto fire control system.

Manual will sometimes lock turrets when turning if turret is locked at max angle against the turn. (ie turret is full CW and ship is turning CCW) In that case as soon as you stop the turn you get control back.

Auto had bugs back when I used it and even though it's been improved sounds like it still has problems. I suggest you take some time and learn the manual system. Manual lets you cross guns, high angle, and lessons demand on mouse allowing you to turn faster. Yes, it takes a bit to learn but go hop in a FF with low crew and do training mission and you will start to get the hang of it. Then you'll take some lumps in games for a bit but in the end you will be a better player and do more damage.

Can you provide a little more information?

Are you turning at the time?
Are you using manual or auto fire control?

There are some similar reported problems we all have so knowing it you are seeing a common problem or a different but similar one would help. :-)
