I just made my account got verified downloaded that game and I'm stuck at the login screen... is the server selection past the login screen?

There are the options of Seattle and Vancouver servers at the login screen, just below where you type your login name and password. Once you've selected a server successfully, a small-fonted white word saying 'selected' will appear on top of the server you have selected. HTH =)
