Yes, the Wyoming class was de-militarized in accordance with the Washington Naval Treaty. The Wyoming and Arkansas were retained as gunnery training ships. One (the Wyoming) was converted to the new dual-purpose mounts for AA training, and the other (the Arkansas) retained her dual 12" guns for large calibre gunnery training.
Neither was used in a battle line in WW2. Wyoming was used as an AA platform in convoy escort duty, while Arkansas accompanied supply convoys and transports and assisted in island bombardment with her 12" guns.
Given what we know about the ranges of those 12" duals in Navy Field, I'm guessing the Wyoming with her 5/38's would have more range. =P
