Starting my SS

Sanquinius	I'm starting up leveling up to a SS on the IJN tree and was wondering what should I use the R spot and the extra support slot for. Engineer repairer restorer? I'm kinda a noob(even though ive been intermitanly playing the game since it was free) so any advice would be very welcome

Valefar	A resto or repair works int the R-slot. I put repair there for free XP, though it has only proved useful on a few occasions (ship shooting me gets sunk and I repair enough to dive again). I even know a few people who ditch the aft torper for more displacement (KM or UK subs), but seeing as IJN gets 2 aft shots, I don't know how viable this would be.

apache1990	I put an engineer in my extra support slot, I think most others do the same. I leave the R slot (slots on the SS2) empty, so I have more displacement for crew. Especially on the SS1, which has very little free displacement as your crew levels up.
