  • SS survival?

With the SS1 it was a suicide mission all the way and now, Ive got the SS2. Much better
overall but I still frequently find myself being forced to surface in the midst of enemy
BBs. Anyone got tips on how to avoid or get through these situations?

Always keep ahead lvl your Planesman and sonarman respect your BO.

Tactical: dont think in BB at start. Just trust in your proxy torps and go to center to
hunt others subs. And learn after your errors.
If an FF is in range KILL HER! Just fire a round of TWO torpz: one aim to nose other to
10?ahead, and proxy do the rest. If you fail YOU ARE DEAD. Everybody can see you now and
you are a minute ago to be sunk by AAW ships...

If you survive to center skirmishes DONT GO AHEAD! Just retrieve to gain air near a more
suculent blue ship (one that attract more fire that you) Once you gain 3/4 tank you can go
to BB line.

Several plp say that SS1 and even SS2 stage must be evade and train sub sailors in CL or so...
Just remember that SS1 and ss2 stage is a neccessary part of your learning curve as a
skillfull subdriver, Same as you will sux if you jump BB1 BB2 and start with BB3 your
first time
:)

NOTE: always drive a sub is a suicidal mission...

it will be more fun in any ss when u get to lvl 3 or 4

as stated before make sure your planesman is full of sailors and expert and vet
them as fast as possible as it will help with air time.

dont use overheat underwater as it uses air faster

Think of the battle area as a football field .......... you want to stay on surface at
least till you cross the 70 or 50 yard line.this is mainly where the 1st BB will shoot at
you. If you dont get shot at then go 5 more yards and the submerge. Have smoke
for when you run out of air and turn under the smoke. If you have a good planesman
then you gain air quickly enough to submerge when smoke is gone. and remember
not to get too close to the BB as your torps will not arm.

If you have the drop on a sub you should always take it. You'll be saving your BB's from a
most unfortunate slaughter and you'll get the damage from sinking a sub. Even if you can
only cripple it and force it to surface then at least your team can finish it.

i dont go for other SS unless they are in my way or they come for me, it either lasts a
very long time, or ends in 1 salvo

if you have to surface around a BB you can zoom in on the BB and see where his guns are
pointing, if its you, dive, then surface when he has changed his target, ideally you
should surface before air actually runs out, so you can dive for a bit when needed, he
wont be able to adjust guns to hit you that fast unless you are a inch from it, if its a
bunch of ships then and out of air then you are pretty much dead... just run, or if you
are close enough, charge them and fire ur torps

"If I score a kill and have like half air left should I return to my Teams lines or keep on
going? "

If there's anyone in range of you, engage them. If there's nobody nearby (hopefully your
team will have scouts near you), then surface and cruise around on the surface while you
hunt. The only times I turn back to my own lines are if they're close, I've run out of air
and am in the middle of a reload, or have a fair bit of damage.

Surfacing in the middle of BBs will happen many times during your time in
submarines. The best way not to have this happen, is to sink everything before you
surface, and this is highly unlikely in an ss2. Basically, just inflict as much damage as
possible and hope for the best. Engies are your friend, but dont take off a sonarman
or planesman for one.

Humm... the best way is to not play on ss2 unless u have good engy. If u want to get exp
and experts fast and "safe" get Emden and do AA. Then when u will get ur ss3 take good
engy, urs 100-vetted torpmans, sonarman, planesman and keep going south, south, south,
south... and one more time SOUTH (on each battle). There hunt a bb4/bb5 and enjoy KM ss ;)
