Cunard's latest liner, the Queen Elizabeth, was recently in town on a stopover
during her maiden, round-the-world voyage.

Selected media personnel were given an exclusive tour on board, and I must say,
she's like a luxurious, floating palace. A simply beautiful ship, and really does
reinvoke the golden era of ocean travel a century ago, as the owners intended.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves, in a separate post below :

Looks increasingly more like your standard apartment-block-cruiseship than a classic
liner =(

Yeah, there's an element of nostalgia to it.

Though I still think coal powered ships look/feel more amazing.

A new day begins ..

The Queen gently rolls in ..

Dwarfing the cruise terminal ..

The Grand Stairway, in true Cunard tradition ..

Multi-shot panorama of the Grand Lobby, stitched together in Photoshop ..

The Britannia Restaurant, with captain's table in the middle ..

The Britannia Club, an extension of the above ..

Typical walkway decor found throughout the ship, very classy and classic ..

Queen's Room Ballroom, regal grandeur ..

The Garden Lounge and swimming pool on Deck 9 ..

Leaving to continue on her round the world journey ..

There were near gale force winds and heavy rain when she departed, people must
have thought I was mad, standing there soaking wet trying hard to hold onto my
violently shaking umbrella with one hand and a camera in the other.

But what we all wouldn't do to watch a beauty like this.

To be honest, I feel the Queen Mary 2 has more graceful lines, but the Queen
Elizabeth and Queen Victoria are no less magnificent in their own right.
