I say use 4fp/4bp and I'll explain why.

Your setup depends on the enemy you're fighting. There are games when you'll verse that
"noob" cv who doesn't do crap. You'll be wishing you were bomberwhored. I've been there,
since I've owned at least 3 FW setups.

There will also be those times when you can't get a bomber squad to the enemy to save your
life. With 4fp you can at least do something important. 2fp just won't cut it.

Why not use a 5/3 or 3/5 setup? Because when you finally reach CV5 or CV6 (whatever your
goal is) you can't launch even full squads and it's just kind of annoying. Odd numbers are
harder to work with I guess.

Currently I'm running a US CV with 4fp, 1 120 scouter, and 3 tb. It's probably the best CV
crew I've ever had since it's well prepared for any situation. The 120 scouts make me nearly
impossible to be blinded.

DBs are good but TBs are better.....

well for me i dont have a medic and um.... i never get crew death or its like 2 recruits
i got only about 5 recruits and 1 expert die yesterday i dont find it nessesary

6 Fighters and 2 DB. One Medic and 1 Seaman with Rep or AC/Ftr ability spiked.

I really dont use TB's much anymore once Subs came into existence. More ships carry buldge now.

DB's always do damage and since the predominant game format is GB2. Fighters act as scouts.

But most CV's dont scout. Gee I wonder why.

It helpls prevent all crew death, but since vets can't die in planes experts are the only ones that matter.

5/3 is good I suppose, although on the cv6 you will have to launch a wave of 6/6...

Why don't I hear many people using the 5 FP and 3 TB setup? Is it not that good or something?

like you said bobby thare cant exactly be a perfect set up i mean a FW will be good
of keeping the skys but when those sneaky... SNAEKY subs attack you i mean you
cant defend your self

and a BW well you can dominate!!! only if your team keeps the skys cause you can
defend your self and cause heavy damage and with torps kill all those...subs

Fast or not, the UK T1 have such dismal damage that no matter how fast you are able to
sucessively strike a BB with your CV1/2 it is unlikely that they will not have repped the
damage by the time another wave strikes.

I would personally suggest 6TB/2FP, as these have equivalent sight to fighter pilots plus
some attack, and the FP to handle anything else. The other extreme is also competitive,
6FP/2TB, using fighters to defend and scout and the torpedoes to deal with submarines or
battleships.

I do not consider a perfect setup to be entirely Fighter whored or bomber whored as bomber
whores get camped and fighter whores get mobbed by SS or DDs or FF in GB. Thus, a perfect,
all-rounded setup might be considered to be skewed toward your preference but able to
defend oneself.

Aside, the 6FP setup is generally considered less newby and more 'skilled' as you can
continue scouting if you have the skill to destroy the enemy FP, by dragging or just by
spending excessive amounts on vetting one's pilots, allowing continued scouting
regardless of conditions (excusing AA ships)

The ONLY nice thing about UK DB's is that the T1's are the fastest bomber. But not by much.

I prefer 4fp/4bp setups. They're not the best for HA purposes but they're most versatile in a
GB environment.
