im guessing you have at-level gunners + supports.

go ddx. play the omaha later when you're higher level. its an awesome ship. very fun to
play with.

Honestly I didn't spend enough time on either ship to find one I preferred.

I did however use the Omaha for AA for a period (despite it's awkward gun placing at the
front)

The DDX I found to a be a decent ship as well, however I don't think I discovered its full
potential since I played Great Battles rather than Blitz; hence I AAed. (Gets levels much
faster, but credits and points are scarce) However, I've heard/read that the DDX can be a
beast in Blitz.

Honestly, you shouldn't end up spending too much time with these ships because the Atlanta
is just a few levels away...

Had I the chance again, I would probably play with the DDX in Blitz, save me the cash to
actually use the Atlanta, and probably have a little more fun. (I didn't have the money
the first time and drove the Omaha till Brooklyn)

You're kidding right?

Since you are asking this question I think its safe to assume you are relatively new. For
that I would suggest sticking to the DDX. Its alot more newb friendly of a ship and in the
right hands is the most lethal DD in the game. Use the 5"Mark 38s or 7" singles.

For more advanced players the Omaha is a hidden gem. Good engineers and gunners allow you
to use it as a speed demon loaded with USN 7" singles. Ontop of that its one of the lowest
level ships capable of carrying scouts.
