Come gather round gents, I gots the best idea yet. You know how introduction of subs have started messing up the balance? Even more so as each new tier is introduced? How every "pro" SS player never plays UK SS but "pro" BB players can play KM BBs? How to win is to spend even more money on crews than CVs? Me too!

 

Well I just don't see the sub patch coming anytime soon. All I remember is reading how the RM BB5 wouldn't be nerfed and to do it myself. How to not nerf things until I have to blow my time and money to get the ship. Wait, where are you going with that you ask? Ah you're right, thats getting us nowhere. Back to business.

 

See, the problem with premium ammo is it is overpowered and you have a limited amount. It will eventually run out and you'll need to replace it. Every shot you take, you are litteraly chucking your money at someone. If you miss, it hurts. If you are accurate but this wonderful mechanic called crit dive is used, it hurts a lot more. Hah! That's just assuming you can even see the SS cause if you don't yer gonna be shooting everywhere which translates to mooor moneh boy. Now you see your PHH counts running low. You think to yourself, 'Well dayum I haven't gotten a bunch of PHH drops in years!'. You're thinking about buying some more to stay relevant.

 

Just. Like. Smoke. Bombs.

 

But heeeey not everyone wants to stoop that low again. There's a free version right? But that free version is utter crap. A joke. You cannot seriously expect to sink any decent sub with those before it destroys your team. But you've spotted them you say? It doesn't matter for how long the SS has been lit up. There is always that one guy who tracks it with his guns, shoots the submerged ss so you know for sure he knows, and then proceeds to eat a full wave of torpedoes straight in the middle.

 

Look at the numbers:

Free HH: 396 x 5 = 1980 damage. 60 sec reload. 33 damage a second.

Prem HH: 900 x 7 = 6300 damage. 30 sec reload. 210 damage a second.

 

That ain't good. 33/210 = 15.7% Free HH damage has compared to Prem. It's always been a joke. But not just that. Free HH takes twice as long to shoot. That means its extremely hard to keep a sub pinned down. Because of that, free HH is even more useless.

 

Now onto the solution! Since players need to use PHH and have dealt with this HH issue over the years, we should do the same for submarine torpedoes! There are many sub players that cry, "waaaaaaaaaaaah PHH noob" and non sub players that rightfully complain, "grrrrrrr terri-bad sub noobs playing OP ships"

 

PHH ain't free, but the current submarine torpedoes are. Did you see where I'm going at yet? We need to make all the current submarine torpedoes cost money $$$$$$$$. Then we introduce a free version that has 15.7% of the damage the old torpedoes had. Now now, don't think I had forgetten about not being able to double the reload time of the free torpedoes. That is already included in the 15.7% because making another torpedo launcher and allowing subs to change torpedo launchers is going to require extra coding and that just won't do ooh no it won't. But that drastically reduces damage potential because of limited torpedoes you say? Well, free HH takes up 3.8 space per bind compared to 0.1 space per bind of PHH. So there. But torpeoes are a sub's main weapon you say? Well.... BB can barely hurt SS with BB shells with such a small hitbox. Now include the sub moving perpendicular to the guns, smoke, moving far away undetected while other people have to keep running to be safe, and 5 seconds with uber 120 planesmen giving full air. We might as well say HH is the main weapon. Before you try to mention DC, they are unreliable. Unless perhaps, there are speed and turning force buffs to the frigates and/or the self damage inflicted from DC was removed. I'm not biased.

Actually, yes. You would see HH used more often. AA is free and you see it being used a lot but I'm trying to be realistic and fair here. They are not going to make a premium consumable item free.

In the mean time, I suggest the super pro sub players use only 15.7% of the torpedo launchers they could use. Most of the times that actually comes out less than one. So just use 1 front launcher and 1 back launcher and lets see just how much you can get done.

Before those 2 fail patches submarines got, normall HH was perfectly fine to kill submarines.

When you timed it right you could 1 shot all submarines with regular HH.

Still ASW is more then capable to deal with any submarine as it is now.

And TT/SDE are workin on it, not that they understand asw/sub gameplay as the latest 2 patches prooved that.

Be prepared for more fail patches that will cause even less ASW ships seen in GB.

Good thing you are not on the test team. Now it actually has people who know what they are talking about, unlike you.

Agreed.

Now TT/SDE plan to remove torp dud rates, like SS5/6 need it anyway.

1 shot sunk from underwater will be easier (more frequent).

The way I see it, SS5/6 already an over design underwater platform + huge dmg output.

Premium Torps = lower dud rate and current dmg.

Each item contains 25 toprs for 80 olives, and/or 50 torps for 120 olives.

Credits Torps = current dud rate and lower dmg.

I've never sank an ss with free hedgehogs and am not buying the premium ones just for the privilege. This needs to be equalized somehow, it is not fair play.

Pre patched, I sunk many subs with NHH and my ship only have 4  launchers. Now HH or PHH wont have to sink a sub, a sub sinks it self due to crit dive damge if you keep it supressed.
