I have the same problem, tried everything they said in the other topics but nothing helped

I had this problem ever since I used the "refresh" feature in Windows 8. I "solved" the low fps problem by installing the game normally and then  placing a copy of the NavyField folder in a external harddrive and launch it from the external hardrive.

The game will still use the .spr files from your internal harddrive, but use the .exe file from your external harddrive. Every time I log in, my external drive starts blinking, meaning it's being used.

It's the best solution I came up with.

Not so helpful for those without an external hard drive.

I've come back from a several month hiatus with a new computer with Win 8.1 and can't get this to work. I would imagine that when a new OS comes out making NF work with it would be the first thing the developers would be working on.

But then this is SDE we are talking about...

Please sort this out devs. If we can't play, naturally we won't spend the money.

yea currently I am running windows 8.1 pro x64bit and I cannot even get the installer to start installing. once I double click its the computer completely ignores that action lmao

I am also useing windows 8 and every time i play as soon as i fire my guns the game locks up cant move cant even move the mouse. i can still hear the battle going on but unable to play. I have tryed everything i know how to fix it and nothing working

if you can unistall 8.1 do so, 8.1 is a very bad update not that windows 8 is that great to begin with, to me its a shy better then vista but not much, if you can go back to W7 id do that instead, W7 is way better then W8 and W 8.1 is useless
